That's a recurring dream of mine, to plunge into water in a car. Scary shit. That sucks.

I thought there would be video of the incident.

As for the topic, I can have sympathy for the dumb texas fuckers who were in the 100 car pile up because I know they don't know how to drive through the shit and there is no road prep, and theyi have been sold a fantasy about their big old fucking trucks, and they probably had to work anyway or be homeless in the cold. That was a horrible thing to happen.

However, dude driving a truck on a bridge way up there in february should have known better on how to drive. Perhaps not been out in the shit to begin with. That sort of person knows the dangers of snow and ice and should not have been fucking around, and unless there is some sort of foul play I am going to say I want some video of that dumb fucker dying because stupid is as stupid does.

I have a dream where I am standing naked at an altar with thousands of naked women throwing tiny pickles at me. Why am I and Chris Knight the only people who have that dream?

It comes from Real Genius. If you have not seen it you should. It would be right up your alley with the comedy. I am specifically commanding you to see that movie if you haven't, you will love it.

If you've never seen the Columbia River it's really hard to appreciate just how big it is. There is a real chance that they might never find anything. What an awful thing for a family. LINK

I suppose one could call the Columbia the Ganges of the PNW (especially with the number of Indians here), but while it gives a decent frame of reference, the Hooghly River distributary of the Ganga in Kolkata is as big as the Columbia through Portland and Vancouver.

I think my worst fear is ... not necessarily driving a car off a bridge, but similar. Drowning specifically. I don't like driving over bridges. When standing on a pier, I'll lay on the ground to look over the edge. I used to tell my ex-husband that I wanted to go on a cruise and he always refused saying he would not spend the money for a cruise, then need to spend money to have a helicopter take us back to shore. Hell, I was an adult before I even learned to swim and I did that specifically so that I could get over the fear of drowning. Sadly, it didn't work.

My fear with bridges is being on the bottom deck of the Fremont or Marquam Bridges when the Big One hits :calli:
Yeah, I know they're not as likely to go all Cypress Viaduct, but...
