So I like to make clones of my HDs as backups, because I wouldn't want to go through the hassle of reinstalling everything if my HD dies. Usually I use Ubuntu, or rather a function of it, with a hot swap dock built into my PC. But I've come across a dock which claims to be able to perform cloning as a stand-alone function, or rather, one of many like it. Has anyone used one of these? Are they any good? Are they better than using Ubuntu's cloning function? Superficially, the appeal to me is that I can clone drives without having to give my main rig completely over to it for the day or so it normally takes.
