Dayton for Mod!

What do people think? We set up a special room, give Dayton mod powers, and let him have at it for a week. Then we could pass the modship on to somebody else.

Things to consider -- would we need to restrict any of the usual mod powers? Any other potential pitfalls?

Oh, it'll absolutely be a disaster. I insist we do it immediately.

I'm okay with it as long as @John or someone can undo any damage he might do.

I can undo the damage, but hopefully it would be kept to a minimum. I'm one of those "I forgive you but I will never forget what you've done" people. So sure, Dayton can be a mod, but I'll be watching.

Oh the why not give Shelter Access, the duals thread for one. Plus what is gained by it?

He'll probably whine that he doesn't have full mod powers then, but there's really no point to giving him access, since there's nothing to see here.

Well, sure, that's one way to do it, and no doubt the most effective. But @John's not our slave, I don't mind figuring things out now and then. I call on John after I've fucked things up.

If you want me to set something like that up, I will. Just let me know how you want it, and when you want it done.

Oh, and if you could, try to get the idea to me before Thursday. I have a doctor's appt. that day, and probably won't be on here.

I mean, it's starting to sound more like an elaborate way to troll Dayton than anything else.

You say that like its a bad thing.

It would rotate, so Dayton would only be a mod for a short time. People want to see things done differently, we give them a chance to do it. Dayton has been talking up the idea more than others, but it wouldn't be just for him. It's also about having fun -- give people something strange and new for a while.

Well, it kind of is in this case.

An individual trolling in the Red Room is fine; that's normal around here. The staff using the board itself to troll a person -- such as creating a special "Chicken Coop" forum to make Dayton the mod of -- is different, and definitely spills outside the normal venue for such things.
