DC is committed to their cinematic universe to the death, so they're going to have to do whatever maintains the ties.
    I'm thinking just blatant recast.
Hell, they recasted Hulk and War Machine in MCU.

    Okay, so let's re-cast Batman.

The first one to say Matt Damon eats a bullet.

I'm sure there's no way to do it (probably contractually prohibited), but how about...Chris Hemsworth?

Armie Hammer? He nearly was Batman in George Miller's aborted Justice League.

Karl Urban? He was a credible Judge Dredd.

That would've been f**king cool about 30 years ago. I think they did actually talk to Eastwood about the role when the '89 version was being developed.

That would've been the baddest ass Batman of all time.

    "I'm Batman...punk!"

About ten years ago would have been perfect for him in a Batman Beyond movie.

I've always been a D.C. fan and Superman is my favorite, but I remember watching Super Friends and then of course the Animated Universe in the 99s and 00s, so as much as I love the MCU and watching the Avengers assemble for the first time was cool, but I'm so emotionally involved with D.C. that movie is a huge deal for me. I've literally waited my whole life for this.

Same here. Although I know Marvel and really enjoy tbe MCU films, the DC characters are the ones I grew up with and are who I most want to see on tbe big screen.

Growing up, the only Marvel character that was just a near and dear to my heart was Spider-Man, well, until the 90s X-Men cartoons, but I remember Spider-Man pretty early on.

Oh, and from all appearances at Comic-Con, Ben Affleck is NOT leaving the Batman role. Affleck himself dismissed the idea.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope you're right. I dismissed him when it was first announced he was playing Batman, now I don't want him replaced.

RE Afflack - One wonders if Flashpoint: Damnit Barry! wouldn't be the obvious vehicle to have Bruce look different after things are fixed. But you can't make him TOO much younger if Batwing is running around in this universe.

As for the Armie Hamer suggestion - seems to be the crowd's choice as the obvious Shazam.I wonder if they wouldn't have to consider Jim Cavizel? In one sense he's already played Batman.

I think Caviezal's too old for Shazam (or would be if it takes off as a franchise). Hammer's a good bet (he has a naive/innocent quality that would work for the character). I'd consider someone like Channing Tatum, who can also muster inner boyishness. Plus, Tatum and the Rock could reunite when they roll out Black Adam.

And I expect that the Flash movie version of Flashpoint will be much more limited and less impactful than the comics. I'm expecting a sorta "Back to the Future 2" scenario, where Barry intervenes in the past and creates a nightmarish present. They're even trying to get Zemeckis to direct.

If they're making one future Batman film with Affleck, then Affleck is in it for the long haul. They wouldn't launch a franchise knowing they were going to have to swap the lead after the first installment.

Ooh, a BTTF 2 like Flash movie with Zemeckis directing, that would be awesome!

    Jeez, Flashpoint again?

They did an animated version of Flashpoint already.

And they did a Flashpoint arc on the TV series.

There has got to be some other Flash stories to tell.

I'm kind of the opposite from you guys. I also grew up reading more DC than Marvel and also grew up watching Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Young Justice, Teen Titans, plus Smallville, Lois & Clark, and all the Superman/Batman/Justice League/ DC live action and animated movies... so I'm less excited about the DCEU.

I feel like I've seen it all done before and done better. And Man Of Steel, BvS, and Suicide Squad weren't all that great IMO.

Whereas I'm less familiar with Marvel and actually look forward to Marvel movies more because they feel like fresh stories.
