How to ensure that the Batgirl movie stays dead...

It’s definitely staying dead, it tested bad with audiences and the new head of WB said that they have a ten year plan with a focus on the holy trinity, Superman, Batman and WW. They’re not going to release Batgirl.

Now it is. I'll point out that WB released the Snyder cut after fans demanded it. Sony re-released some gawd awful POS movie after bots demanded it. Until Feige stepped in, it was possible that WB could have been persuaded/suckered into dumping it onto HBO Max or The Roku Channel. Now? Nope. The suits are going to have to prove that they're smarter than Feige, so they won't release it, no matter how much damage they wreak on the company in the attempt. As an added bonus, Fiege has made it far less likely the folks involved with Batgirl will opt to ever work with WB again. They will, however, be more than happy to work for Disney.

Fiege played WB hard, and I doubt if the suits at WB are smart enough to realize that.

If Marvel had "focused on its existing brands" there'd be 300 Spidey movies, and no Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Dr. Strange, etc, etc, etc.

Nah, we've got 5 movies out of the Reeves/Routh-iverse. I'm good.
If we can't have Cavill, then I want a self contained reboot-iverse like Joker and The Batman.
We were supposed to get that with the JJ Abrams black Superman, but there's been no word on that.

I'm liking these Elseworlds pocket-worlds like Joker & Batman.
After DCEU dies off, they should put all their eggs into that basket.
Let up and comer directors take a crack with their visions.

I don't mean they should return to the Reevesverse, but no more dark and gritty Superman. I want a Reeves like Superman and I want them to bring in Braniac. Keaton will be in The Flash movie so at least there's that.

You know, for a guy who claims that Paramount is lying when they say that Trek is doing well, you sure seem happy to buy what the guy from DC is selling.

DC really needs to accept that they simply cannot replicate the interconnectedness of the MCU and that even the MCU model is showing cracks now.

It shouldn't be that tough to take characters that are better-known to the average movie-goer and make half-decent films about them.

Or give the whole thing to Bruce Timm and let him run with it.

Eh, in this case I don't think it's necessarily racism or sexism. Because, at the end of the day, the only thing that drives Hollywood is money. If they thought a film could make a shit-ton of money with a lead actor who's a latino transgendered woman in a wheelchair, they'd release it.

Take Batgirl, with a relatively unknown lead actress and poor audience scores.

Then take Black Adam, with a famous and well-liked lead actor and poor audience scores.

If you had to make the decision, which film would you release and which film would you use as the tax write-off?

I'd press the button that blows up the whole planet, and go "there was no other way...there was no other way. ".

Suicide Squad didn’t do well, The Suicide Squad didn’t do well and that was a damn fine movie, Birds of Prey didn’t do well either and I quite liked that one too, WW 1984 didn’t do well either. Is it sexism or would people just rather see Superman and Batman? The looney left will tell you it’s sexism and racism because the world was built by evil white men.
