Just finished League of Super Pets, I loved it. I thought it was well written and had a solid story. Kate McKinnon could have easily ruined this, but managed not to. The jokes were good and there were some good character moments as well as heart felt moments. One tiny little nitpick; Lulu captures the Justice League and yet Green Lantern, I assume still has her ring because she's still in costume. If this is true, then she should have been able to escape imprisonment and free the others. If she doesn't have the ring, she should have been wearing plain clothes. Also, this must be a new Green Lantern I've never seen before.
Maybe they should have gone for an NC-17 rating. It probably would have gotten better reviews and more attention. It appears that DC has landed yet another dud. When is Warner Bros. gonna wake up and just burn the whole DC cinematic universe to the ground and start from scratch? The only thing worth saving, despite its flaws, is Man of Steel. (And I'm not including the Batman films because they've been rebooted more times than Sony/Marvel has rebooted Spider-Man.)
I'll reserve judgment until I see it myself. Professional "critics" are all bought and paid for, and must propagate the identity politics message if the want to keep their jobs.
I hope WB does this. I love Henry Cavil as Superman, but I've lost all hope of him coming back and I don't want the DCU resting on the Rock's shoulders. I think he makes entertaining, action packed movies, but I want more than that from DC. Marvel has saturated and cornered that market. We need someone who will take Superman seriously and do something different. "The Batman" was a good start.
Cavill is going to pop up in at least one more DCEU project, and there's a lot of noise from 'behind the scenes sources' that he is getting another movie. Guess we'll find out if that's true or not, but he's definitely confirmed for a cameo.
My understanding was they were going to pretty much do that with Flashpoint, bringing back Michael Keaton, introducing a new Supergirl, discarding any actors or continuity they didn't want and keeping whatever they felt was working. (The comics Flashpoint ended with Batman continuing basically uninterrupted, while Superman got rebooted as young and edgy and started dating Wonder Woman.) (But then that Superman died, and got replaced by the classic Superman who was married to Lois and had a superpowered son named Jonathan.) (Comic books.)
James Gunn is the Co-Guy. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/m...r-safran-to-lead-film-tv-division-1235248438/
The DCEU is just the DCU now. Like it always should have been. https://www.darkhorizons.com/the-dceu-is-getting-a-new-name/
Saw Black Adam today, was really quite pleasantly surprised. It did about as good a job as any movie I've seen of puttin a comic on the screen. It was heavy on the action, but had some decent humor and a few twists in the plot that worked fairly well IMO. And the casting was absolutely fantastic - Aldis Hodge as Hawkman was amazing in the role. The Rock pretty much IS Black Adam (as there isn't all that much difference between his wrestling persona and the character in the first place). Sarah Shahai and Quintessa Swindell were great in their roles, and Pierce Brosnan as Dr Fate was pitch perfect. It's also the first DC movie that really felt like the part of a greater universe. It leaned into the DCU heavily, and the cameos were just right. It got panned by the critics, but the RT audience score is at 89% and IMO that's about right. It was a hell of a lot of fun and honestly I'm probably going to see it in the theater again.
-Wonder Woman 3 is definately dead. -Man Of Steel 2 might be dead. -Future Cavill-Supes cameos will likely be dead if Man Of Steel 2 is dead. -Black Adam 2 might be dead. -If all of these are dead, it's proof that the Snyder-verse period is being killed. -If it is, Jason Mamoa could just jump to the next timeline as Lobo. -Matt Reeves's Batman-verse is safe. https://www.darkhorizons.com/wonder-woman-3-more-dead-at-dc/
Lol seriously? Well if they spent that much to make and market a mediocre movie like that, then that's on them Sounds like Hollowood might need some lessons in fiscal responsibility, yikes
Nah. Hollywood is infamous for its “creative accounting.” In reality, the thing probably made a profit just not as much as they wanted, so they killed the sequels.
James Gunn on yesterday's news.. “some of it is true, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, & some of it we haven’t decided yet whether it’s true or not.” https://www.darkhorizons.com/gunn-responds-to-recent-dc-studios-report/
Just to be safe, they should burn him while they burn down the rest of the current DC Cinematic Universe.
D'aww!! We could have had a "Batman Beyond" movie with Keaton as elder-Bruce!! Why do they even tell us?!?!? It's like when your dad as a kid said "if the factory hadn't gone on strike, we were going to Disneyworld ". Muthafucka, take that shit to your grave!! https://www.darkhorizons.com/a-keaton-led-batman-beyond-scrapped/
