This movie is a lot of fun. In Collider's review of the film, they said you'd be laughing a few seconds into the opening credits and, yep, you are.

Reynolds is terrific and Morena Baccarin?

    Seeing it again on Saturday.

Warning: earns its R-rating for graphic violence, language, and even some nudity.

    Highly recommended.

Why would you want anything else from a movie? Those are the three magic ingredients!

Caught it last night, and looking forward to the directors cut!

The opening credits are brilliant, and manage to mock a lot of things, including the end credits to AoU.

Only thing that fell a little flat at times was Colossus' Ernie Wise to Deadpool's Eric Morecambe, they weren't together enough for it to work, and we need moar Negasonic.

Colossus had some awesome moments, and his fight scene was fun.

The fourth wall breakage felt natural.

And yeah, Morena Baccarin. Oh lord yes.

The stingers achieve nothing, well other than tell you who'll be in the sequel, but are worth watching anyway.

The beancounters at Fox are going to look at each other and mouth "and we weren't going to make this?"

It was okay. There's a scene that depicts Wade consensually getting pegged. That was... progressive. :marathon:

If it gets me in bed with Morena Baccarin, I might be willing to make that sacrifice.

I haven't had this much fun at the movies in a while. Same sort of fun as Ant-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy, but for adults only. Plus, given that it's had the most-successful R-rated opening in history, I'm sure we'll be getting more.

Maybe with more than two X-Men at the X-Mansion. ;)

It was funny and the violence was refreshingly real. But that only kept it going for an hour or so, before it started to grate.

Deadpool 2 is obviously going to be R, but I also heard it's a sure thing X-force will effectively be both Deadpool 3, and the launch of the post-Jackman post-Singer X-Men era, and be R.

Finally got out to see this over the weekend and yes, it is glorious. Funny as shit, over-the-top violence, and Renolds is perfect as Deadpool. Fuckin' loved it. :techman:

The issue I see is that with Deadpool being such a wild success, we're going to see a bunch of badly-done R rated superhero movies now that will attempt to copy *cough*rip off*cough* the formula. Deadpool works because the folks who made it were inspired and believed in the project, and wanted to be true to the source material. Now we'll get the usual mindless Hollywood drones trying to do the same thing and falling on their faces.

    At decent production values too.
Look up the porn parodies for Superman vs Spiderman and Avengers.

We're not going to go through a new age of shoehorning in sex, violence and swearing just to be 'edgy' are we? :marathon:

That's going to almost as bad as all the watered down shit to get the kids in, cashing in on the fact they had a generation who finagled their way into watching Terminator and Predator, and a whole range of horror movies, and wanting their kids to get a bit of that, but without upsetting the censors.

Surely taking a look at the character(s), and from there tailoring the kind of film, budget and target-rating would be smart?

    I'm (TM)ing the term 'R'soles

Saw it. I was mostly amused. I'm not really into a lot of the low brow humor (cussing, shit jokes, dick jokes).

But there was still plenty of other funny stuff in the movie.

I was especially amused by the Indian cab driver taking Deadpool's advice and kidnapping his rival and leaving him in the trunk.

Also enjoyed some of the fourth wall jokes about other superhero movies Reynolds has been in (Blade, Green Lantern, Wolverine Origins).

This was way better than Green Lantern and definitely fits Reynolds better.

Was nice to see Gina Carano in another film. Why the hell isnt she playing Wonder Woman in the new movie? She's perfect for the role! That was a huge missed opportunity.

Deadpool is on the verge of becoming the most successful X-Men-related film ever. It's already the most successful film of the series domestically (even adjusted for inflation), and it's only about $40 million short of X-Men: Days of Future Past worldwide.
