I consider my self lucky. With my work I work a four day week, 10hr days. Actual time spent working. About four hours a day. I also get six weeks off a year, ten paid Holidays that I don't show up for work. If I plan it right, and combine Holidays with my time off, I can push out to seven weeks off a year. My health insurance is about 3% of my pay. And my home and cars are paid off. And my income increased by over 40% from 6 months ago.
I know that what I have is better than the average, or a good part of what most people have. I haven't always been so lucky. And part is due to what I've pushed and worked for. And I also owe my income increase to my current leadership.
@Tuckerfan lives a miserable life and hates our system because of it because none of his hardships are remotely his fault and assumes everyone else must feel this way so your life style is inconceivable to him. It makes him feel good to talk shit about capitalism on a daily basis and he loves the European life style, but will never do anything to improve his life and move out of this horrible country he hates so much. It’s easier to just post tweets and memes 24/7.
I can't agree to that about situations people are in. Some people are in the situations they are due to their own actions, or lack of actions. But at the same time, or society makes it hard for people to move up or get out of the position they are in.
You can have someone who has worked to better themselves, but then they may get sick. And even with health insurance, they find themselves where they can't work, bills don't go away, and the insurance doesn't cover everything they need. After time their income goes away or is severity reduced since they can no longer work, or work at much as they used to.
They have to make decisions on what they can or can't pay. Maybe they can't afford car insurance, but still need to drive to what work they can do. Or drive to get their medical treatments. They get pulled over, car towed, they get arrested. Now they don't have a car, getting to work is even harder. Legal fines can add up when they can't pay the initial fines.
Another example, a female is in a bad relationship. She leaves the relationship. Manages to get a place to live, a job that barely covers her expenses. Then due the current economy her rent goes up 30%. Now she too is having to decide what she can and can't pay. Bills are not going away. Whatever savings she had are now being used to pay rent. Due to eviction moratoriums she is able to stay longer in her place, but moratoriums have ended and now she had been evicted and still owes past rent. Hey situation had gotten worse even thought she made every effort to improve it.
Our society, legal system, and economy makes it hard for someone to pull themselves up even when they try as hard as they can. And only luck lets someone get out from when they are at.
I work with people that because of what had happened in the last two years, inflation, skyrocketing rent, housing prices, increased fuel costs, food costs. They are struggling when last year they weren't struggling. And I feel for them. Several of them have had to take on a second job.
And with myself and people like @Tuckerfan living in the richest most powerful country in the world, two people can have vastly different circumstances even when both have worked and pushed to do their best.
You really do live in a cartoon version of our universe, don't you?
Is the idea of somebody wanting to improve the country they live in really so foreign to you that you're willing to parrot that old Agnew-era "love it or leave it" canard?
They are. and they know it. and they don't care. They want what they want and that's all there is to it.
Wait, I thought the Founders were all horrible Old White Men who were wrong about everything?
Why would you think that?
Please share when you figure it out.
Here in FL we call that a silver alert because you have to separate the 2 year old toddlers from the elderly entitled white toddlers. Ijn effect you do not want to bring small children to the old white guy nursing home. It tends to work out badly and our cops are not that bright.
That seems to be about as real as any right wing history fantasy where they are not entitled racist scumbags.
What I think every time I see one of these memes:
Don't want to eat this guy. He looks like a ferret.
Separate names with a comma.
