He could be telling the truth. Notice the name of the company doing celebrity deep fake voices. https://gizmodo.com/veritone-launches-deepfake-audio-platform-for-celebriti-1846905864/amp
I really wish he wouldn't engage in these kind of things, but if he is telling the truth, they really should make it so.
It's been a while since I watched the X-Men films, could they have pulled a sound clip from one of them? Maybe it's one of those Prodigy style easter eggs they're blowing out of proportion in the trailer.
While it's certainly possible to impersonate someone or imitate an actor's voice with technology, there's no way--no way--Marvel is going to present a Patrick Stewart-looking and -sounding Professor X without Stewart's approval, and almost certainly not without his participation.
Approval, yes. Participation? Maybe. Remember, Stewart's been busy filming Picard, and even with the downtime because someone tested positive for COVID, he might not have had the time to do it. I doubt if he's going to turn down a check if all that's required for him to get it is to authorize Marvel to use a computer-generated voice and image of him in a trailer.
Stewart was supposed to voice Picard in a Star Trek Online anniversary mission a couple years ago, but had to drop out due to "scheduling issues." Instead we got Jeri Ryan returning as Picard-era Seven of Nine, and some old voice clips of Picard while the Enterprise D fought alongside your captain. I never heard Stewart complaining about that.
Even so, he's still involved and his suggestion that it's an imitation is a deception. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with such deception. But there's no way Marvel's doing something with his likeness (audio or visual) and that's he's not at least aware of it.
He probably still got paid. Point is, he wouldn't need to publicly deny knowledge or involvement for a game.
I’m just going off of what Dicky posted and Stewart saying it wasn’t him. If it’s an AI generated voice, then he’s technically correct. And as we all know…
Okay, I'll spoiler this, because it uses genuine leaks... Whaddya think? Possible, or fanboy wet dream?
Marvel has really perfected this leaking so that fans keep on guessing and hype up the movie without the need to pay for advertising. In this case I am not actually bitching. The fans are eating it up and having a blast talking about the what ifs.
Someone pointed out that Ryan Reynolds would be technically correct about not being in the movie if he's in the after-credits. If he's not in the main body of the movie, is he in THE movie? Y'know? I've always thought they were going to pull a Howard The Duck with Deadpool.
Patrick Stewart (jokily) denied his involvement on The View, but then he turned around, and blurted it right out on a YT podcast. https://thedirect.com/article/patrick-stewart-marvel-doctor-strange-2-return-spoilers
Empire magazine confirms Illuminati. It's not a spoiler if it's in official press. https://www.cbr.com/doctor-strange-multiverse-of-madness-illuminati-confirmed-marvel/
New TV spot. New monster, couple new lines, new action moments, but they're keeping any more cameos under lock and key.
The animatic leaks of Xavier are 100% confirmed. In SceneX, which extends the screen dimensions, you can see Xavier's whole head in the trailer, and the back of his golden chair from the cartoon.
New Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Footage Teases Some Major Cameos The video they've linked to has been deleted. Here's one of the screenshots they grabbed from it.
And this! Again with Xavier's yellow chair, and we can see he's got the green shirt from the cartoon.
In a few months, the flick will drop on streaming/disk, and they'll just throw Xavier and Captain Carter right in the commercial fully revealed.
Okay, a clip leaked out, and Disney squashed it, and is even squashing the screen-grab, but I got the screen-grab in time. It confirms a persistent rumor. I'll nest it under double spoilers...
