Maybe this is a thread that can go on with some shared stories of extreme stupidity. I was inspired today because of something I saw from my father's HOA. I am going to try and get the video. Anyway, my parents live in a gated community in florida. The gate is a long bar that is red and white wrapped in reflective tape with a bunch of LED lights along it to be visible to cars coming in. There are always people knocking the bar off with their cars because they are tailgating or just obnoxious. At this entrance it is very open because there is a golf course with nice cement paths for the carts. So my dad tells me that there is this guy who is suing the HOA because he was injured by the gate. The guy ended up in the hospital with a concussion from the gate hitting him. So my dad has it on video because they record everyone who comes in because they charge the people for taking out the gate. So on the video there is a dude on a bicycle without a helmet riding along. This guy lives in the community and knows the gate is there. It is obviously there in the video and the guy rides right into it and they crash to the ground. It is not like the gate was up and came down on him, he just plowed right into it. The video is fucking hillarious which is why I am trying to get a hold of it. The best thing about this is that the HOA did not know who took out the gate until the guy decided to file the lawsuit for his medical expenses. Now the HOA is going to send him a bill for taking out the gate which they had to repair. There is a sign there that says it is 350 dollars if you take out the gate.
