I'm more concerned about little commie larper fuckbags setting fire to cars in this context.

You're not disputing anything. You're just adding detail. There's nothing to argue if we agree it's not optimal.

There is a difference. In one example, you’re placing the entirety of the problem on the one person who took on the responsibility. The other is acknowledging that in this capitalist society that a person MUST trade their time for money to survive rather that spend that time with their child.

Did they not know what sort of society it was when they decided to make a baby? That's the only way to absolve them of that side of the equation.

No, now you want to impose your own values on the situation.

    Also, utterly beside the point.

    Try again.

Just had my worst customer interaction in the 2+ years I’ve been working at Lowe’s.

An elderly English woman with an heavy accent asked a Hispanic coworker a question that even I didn’t understand. Something like ‘You guys used to have paint [shops? charts? cards?] on the wall there.’

Hilda looked at me and said ‘Matt?’

Elderly English woman: Ah good, someone who speaks English.

Me: Ma’am there is no need to be rude.

    EEW: How was I rude?

Me: Hilda speaks English. Just because she didn’t understand your question doesn’t mean you can be rude to her.

EEW: I actually do speak English. I speak the proper English! If you can’t understand me you shouldn’t be working…

Me: Ma’am have a good day. *Walks away*

    EEW: [indignant squawking]

Is this common with old English folks?

To quote American philosopher Michael Tyson: Social media made y'all way to comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it.

This wasn’t social media but I feel like old people feel protected by their elderlyness and say shit that folks who are socially acceptable punchable wouldn’t say.

Retail workers should get one punch a year.

Only one. So you gotta use it judiciously.

But folks would behave a lot better if they had to worry about someone using their yearly punch on them.

And yet, when you say “single parent”, you are implying the one person who is accountable, is demonized. Perhaps not intentionally, but that is what most people hear.

No, it’s not your fault how someone else takes your words. But … it is what it is.

Nobody is to blame for the society they're born into, but they are accountable for how they conduct themselves within it.

Old people can be pretty awful in general. Well, at least the racist ones. I always love when my coworkers excuse old people’s racism because “that was acceptable when they were young.” No, it wasn’t. And even if they were raised to be racist, they were all alive during the Civil Rights era so they have no excuse still being so in 2024. Furthermore, how do you explain all the old people who aren’t racist?

that, and the truth is that it'd be the children of marriages that didn't divorce but rather stayed miserable that'd be more predisposed to anti social behaviours and parental neglect.

but fuckface seems to figure that an abusive relationship is something one is obligated to stay in "for the kids' sake"...
