So, poor old Nigel Farage has been caught out taking millions in bribes donations from dodgy businessmen and failing to declare it to Parliament. Investigations were proceeding and it looked likely that he'd be thrown out and be forced to face a by-election to get back in. In a fit of pique, our hero decided that instead of allowing that, he'd resign and trigger the by-election anyway. "Let the voters decide on my conduct!" he declared, implying that rules don't apply once one has been elected. (His sometime mate Donald has similar thinking.) He may have been poorly advised however. What would happen if he were re-elected is that the investigation would resume, he'd be kicked out again and be forced to win yet another by-election. Following still? So now, his constituency of Clacton (which he barely knows the location of) is having a by-election and all of the other parties are saying that they're not participating in the charade. All but one. There is a direct one-to-one face off between Farage and independent space warrior Count Binface. Farage won something like 30% of the electorate last time out, so if other voters unite and there's a bit of an anti-politics vote, we have a real possibility that Nigel becomes unemployed, and Binface goes to the House of Commons. His party, Reform, have - hilariously - launched a serious PR strategy targeting Count Binface. This will become gloriously messy.
I realize that as a Yank, I don’t really have much room to criticize another’s political system, but the fact that Lord Binface isn’t already PM says that there’s something wrong with your system.
Farage won 40 odd percent of the vote last time, his "let the people" decide act would be more convincing if it wasn't in the ultimate Reform safe seat. The only other candidate standing is Binface, so if all the people that didn't want Farage vote Binface he might just win. I loathe Farage with every fibre of my being.
Of course the establishment media (who hate Farage) are ignoring the scandal of how Lord Bucketface became Count Binface (the UK doesn’t even have Counts!).
Where does this idea the establishment hates Farage come from? He’s very much for billionaires, was privately educated and takes bribes from billionaires, to me he’s the text book definition of establishment.
The establishment media love Farage. He'd never have gotten where he has if they hadn't relentless platformed him, out of all proportion to his success.
Nah...too easy.. Anyway, watching Farage & Co. trying to paint a guy who wears a trashcan on his head and claims to be from outer space as the face of the establishment could generate a worldwide popcorn shortage.
10/10 no notes. This was his manifesto against Andy Burnham - hasn't got one for Clacton yet but many of these are great anywhere.
It gets better! Reform is so worried that Farage might lose, they’re pulling resources from other areas to help Farage! https://www.theguardian.com/politic...-manchester-farage-clacton-byelection-contest Wouldn’t it be hysterical if not only Farage lost, but because they put so many resources into Farage’s campaign that other Reform candidates lost as well?
whoa.....that seems like pedo(34) lunacy.....tilting at windmills instead of working on the real problems...typical
I was blasting through "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" in 4th grade. Would have been 3rd, but I didn't find it until then. Now math on the other fucking hand...
No, I'm having this read and typed by a tutor, douchebag. Go sell your "everyone who disgrees with me has the dumb" nonsense to a bunch of 19 year olds.
I was assuming you were using the more academic- minded definition of literate, as in my many years of teaching I've not yet encountered one high school graduate who could not actually read and write. So, which is it?
You said: American students are not literate. I said: By what measure? You said: By the standard dictionary definition. I said: Then you're just wrong. So, nothing you said actually disputes what I said to you. By the way, my academic concept of literate is the primary definition in the Merriam-Webster dictionary. literate 2 of 2 noun 1: an educated person 2: a person who can read and write So, you've actually managed to be wrong in two different ways with one sentence. Which in its own way is pretty impressive.
