    That particular paper was not about climate change in that the authors were not attempting to relate it to climate change. We agree there. What I'm saying is that you can't take someone's paper, apply your own analysis, and then claim that the authors were claiming something they never tried to claim. That analysis is your own, not theirs.

    I never said that the authors made such claims. I merely cited the paper to establish that wind speeds have in fact been decreasing for 30 years while temperatures over the same period have been high. That would amount to 30 years of direct observational evidence that global warming does not increase winds - it decreases them by 10 percent.

    This was truly masterful. But for those who couldn't make it all the way through, allow me to summarize:

    gturner is a liar

    Four simple words that address the vast majority of his ramblings. Concise, accurate. He lies.

    You can save time by responding thus:

    @gturner: Stop. Lying.

    So you're claiming that wind speed didn't decrease over the last 30 years.

    You're a climate change denialist. I linked an article in Nature that had data that showed wind speeds decreased, yet you stick your head in the sand and deny it all, screaming "Liar! Liar! Liar! It's LIES, all LIES!"

    More lies, see post 56. And not for nothing, but when you respond to the debunking by simply repeating the lie, you fool nobody.

    Stop. Lying.

    I'm just citing scientific papers about the change in wind speeds. They're all going absolutely nuts as if I was questioning holy scriptures.

    MOD NOTE: Take the butthurt to a different forum. I'm not going to have this, or any other thread in this forum filled with people taking petty snipes at one another or trying to provoke one another. In fact, I'm going to lock this thread for 24 hours to give everyone a chance to cool off. Anybody who starts a new thread on the same subject before I unlock this thread gets a warning.

    MOD NOTE: This thread is now open again, with the following requirements:
    1.) No butthurt comments about the closure or statements made by other posters. Ya wanna bitch? There's the Help Desk and Red Room. Use 'em.
    2.) No 'Gish Gallop' posts.
    3.) No posts which stray too far from the topic of the OP.

    Enforcement and interpretation of what constitutes a violation of these requirements is entirely up to the whims of the moderator of this forum (me). Based on previous behavior of posters here, I'm going to be inclined to hand out warnings, rather than ask nicely for people to cut it out.

    Because you need me, Wordforge. Your guilty conscience may move you to want free speech, but deep down you long for a cold-hearted Tuckerfan to lower standards, brutalize posters, and rule you like a king. That's why I did this, to save you from yourselves. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a forum to run.

    I kindly beg to differ, good sir. I posit that, nay, your cat's breath does not smell like cat food, but rather, your cat food smells like cat breath. Good day, sir. I said, good day! :dendroica:
