The wood stock of my otherwise pristine 22 rifle got scratched up a bit. Is there anything I can do to put this gun back in perfect condition? Anyplace I can take it to get it fixed?

Not sure why you'd want to, if it doesn't affect the accuracy or functionality.

Not enough information. If it is a traditional style of stock though, you could probably just do it yourself. By traditional I mean an oak, birch, or even walnut or pine stock with a linseed oil finish.

For scratches, you should be able to go after them with fine grit sandpapers before moving on to steel wool. Once you've smoothed it out, start rubbing coat after coat of boiled linseed oil into the stock. For actual dings or dents, you need to steam them out with a wet cloth and an iron.

If my Dad were still alive he could tell you more about either. Cleaning up beat-up stocks was a big hobby of his.

I think a few scratches and dinks give a gun character. :)
