We're perpetually at war and/or interfering with other nations while our own citizens have been conditioned to expect and celebrate only austerity and corruption. We're currently supporting and enabling a genocide in Palestine, ethnic cleansing in Lebanon, a proxy war in Ukraine, and actual war with Iran. We are the supervillain of this timeline. Our current presidential regime is the most personally corrupt and authoritarian in our history and will apparently be allowed to continue its fuckery throughout its standard term of office because it is, after all, merely a symptom (albeit a particularly virulent one) of the diseased governance that passes for 'democracy' in the USA.
