Well, since I was invited in another thread to introduce myself... You can see my screen-name to the left of this post. I was, until a few days ago, a member of TrekBBS. Yes, I'm just another reject from over there. I've heard what a hive of scum and villainy this place is supposed to be, so here I am to check it out for myself.
More scum than villainy, but definitely wretched. Since it's a long tradition here, let's get this out of the way. I accuse you of being a dual of a dozen different Wordforgers. There, now we can move on. What happened at TrekBBS? Many of us are refugees from that hell hole. What's your story?
I wish there were a story. I simply don't know. At the start of the week I refreshed the tab in which I kept TrekBBS open - banned. No reasons given. No answers to my eMails. Nothing.
@T'Bonz, perhaps a mistake was made? I've not heard anything about you being a complete retard like gturner (yeah, he's here, too, sadly). Still, welcome
Don't let the debate put you off the place. If you make good points many of the posters will engage you. If they think you aren't making good points they will also tell you about that.
My hope is to be able talk about points and ideas, rather than about the person(s) making the point - which happens more and more over at The TrekBBS.
Um, yeah, why not? Seriously,what Dinner said. There's some of that here because we've known each other for years (some going back to even before TBBS was created!), but if you put your best foot foward, you'll get accepted in no time. Just please don't be a retard like gturner.
Well, from what I remember he's in his own category of... interesting. As for TrekBBS. At the moment I didn't accept their views about GamerGate they decided I was to be mocked and insulted, even though I probably agree with most of their other views politically. The lowest of the blows even came from a moderator who said to me that they think I only haven't yet raped a woman is because I'm gay.
People will mock you here for gamergate (though others will agree with your views). But step in to another thread topic, and many who mock you in one thread, will back you up in another. You have to be very special to be mocked in every thread.
Some idiot who was banned for one single extraordinarily stupid post he made in TNZ in March of 2011. A post I regret, since it destroyed my almost eight years of participating in a forums I enjoyed greatly.
TBH, I'd have kicked your arse out years before they handed me my hat. That's why I was pretty annoyed back in '11; I got perma'ed for my own stupidity while you got away with the crap you did for years.
