Okay, so the YouTube gawds offered up a trailer starring Robert Pattinson (who's decided that the best way to get people to forget he was once a sparkly vampire is to play a brooding character who has based his identity on bats, a creature famously diametrically opposite of vampires) with no info as to the subject. Still image looks pretty cool, so I click on it and am served up this: Now, you already know more about the trailer than I did, simply by reading the thread title. So, I'm watching the thing, trying to figure out where they're going with it, and WTF it's about, when I hear, "I'm Chris Hanson..." and that's when the penny drops. I don't know where they're going with it, but it seems pretty clear that the folks responsible for this are big fans of another movie about TV. You know, this one: As both @shootER and @MikeH92467 can say from first-hand experience, Network pretty much nailed where TV news was headed in the 21st Century, over 20 years before the year 2000.
My favorite overkill moment from To Catch a Predator was when a cop was waiting outside in a ghillie suit to pounce on some dude while like three plain clothes cops just slowly walk in to handcuff the dude.
Based on the first few seconds of this trailer, you're in luck, as they seem to show that. In watching this trailer, I'm reminded of what I said to my friends after we saw Natural Born Killers in the theater, "We've just seen the future of cinema. In 10 years, every movie will look like this." I was wrong about how long it'd take, but I don't think I was wrong about what cinema would eventually look like.
