I couldn't find a thread about this, so apologies if it's a repost. But apparently Germany just suffered a massive once-in-a-thousand-years flood? I was away camping without cell service and this was the first news story that popped up when I got back. Can someone check in on Packard?
I mentioned this in the PNW Baked (...pun intended) thread, and changed the Political Meme thread title to match Verviers, Liége, Belgium got fucking drowned
Sorry, I know you understand the reasoning for this, but just thought it relevant to point out once in a thousand year events are no longer once in a thousand years. We are seeing many of those events, repeatedly now, because of climate change. Good call. I wish I knew how.
Bavaria and Austria (Packard and Aurora) have seen some flooding now, but nowhere near as disasterous as in the west. Apart from Jan Jansen in Switzerland, that's all current German speaking WFers I'm aware of (apart from myself, who'd have been far away from the flood even if I wasn't in Spain right now).
This is probably only funny if you speak German: https://mobile.twitter.com/Erdkadse/status/1415751684635123721
