I'm assuming, since I don't play Wordle, but it is a pretty neat game. It's called Anthropeum, and the idea is pretty simple: You're shown an object from human history and you have to guess where and when it originated. You're given a cushion in that you don't have to be precise when it comes to the year (getting within 250 is a winner), and you don't have to be exact when it comes to where the thing was found. So, for example, if you think that an object was made in 14th Century France, it doesn't matter where in France said object was made. (Though you do score higher if you pick the correct spot.) And it is not easy, even when you know what an object is. For example, on today's test (and they change every day) I knew that the object was a Benin Bronze, but I wasn't certain when and where it was made. Obviously, Africa, but precisely where, and when it might have been made, that's another story. One which I got partly wrong. I will also state that there was another object where I guessed a date for it, and got it way wrong. Now, I'm not mad that I got the date wrong, in fact, the date it served up made the object seem way more interesting. Naturally, I clicked on the link to learn about the object, only to discover that, while, yes, I did get the date wrong, I wasn't as wrong as I thought. I don't know if that means there's a glitch in the game where it somehow tags the wrong dates to certain objects, or if I misread the date that it gave for it. Anyway, still cool, and still worth spending your time on.
