Not guilty on one count. Mistrial on the other five. We'll see if they retry him.

A friend of mine has been camped out covering that trial for weeks. I think he'll blow his brains out if they retry it there.

On MSNBC Chuck Todd, Chris Matthews and the other guy were making clear they consider Edwards a creeepy, phoney, empty suit. Basically a male Sarah Palin type. I just hope he'll have the good sense to go away. Nothing would become him in his political life like the leaving it.

The thing is that he has always been a crooked motherfucker. All he ever did here was run business out of the state with his phone book lawyer bullshit, and campaign for president. The funny thing here is there are people on this board who loved him and voted for him and wanted him to be president. :jayzus:

Given that something like 90% of former prosecutors felt they had no case I am not surprised. If one is honest then the only reason Obama let that Republican hold over even bring the case is because Republicans would have claimed he was trying to shield Democrats from prosecution. Since no one liked Edwards and every thought he was a dirt bag it seems an easy political call to let him take his chances (he'd probably win according to everyone in the know plus he's rich so who cares if he loses a few million in legal fees). Obama's main goal seemed to be to protect himself from any claims Republicans might have made.

I honestly doubt they'll waste the money on a retrial since virtually all prosecutors agreed there was no real case and Obama was just being a coward for political reasons (though Repubs were being 100% political by bringing this forward as well) so what's the point? Just to waste more public money in the hopes it will some how shift a future election 0.1%? That won't happen.

Chrissy is such a asshole...before Obama he got those tingles in his leg from the Breck Girl.

And the only thing Edwards and Palin have in common is they both were involved in pregnancies that got people worked up...Him for knocking up his Mistress while his wife was dying and Her because the original "Birthers" accused her of faking her's with Trig.

It may be more honest, but doesn't it require you to live in Ottawa? :scorp:

I was going to be Devil's Advocate and say this was the GOP, on an agenda, using a personal sexual dalliance and contorting it into a legal case, much like impeaching someone over a blowjob.

Then I was going to say the difference is that Edward's behavior is so much skeevier that, innocent or guilty, he's finished politically. But on further consideration I couldn't decide if cheating on your wife while she is dying of cancer is, in fact, any skeevier than cumming on an employee half your age in your home office while your wife and teenage daughter are asleep upstairs. :marathon:

And skeeviest of all is declaring how you're done with a message board, then continuing to come back again and again and post crap.

    Yep.

Like that senator who was porking that Chandra Levi girl way back ten years ago when when she came up missing. The only reason that one fell off the radar quicker than it would have was 9/11, but it eventually came out that her killer was just some random crazy dude who was off his meds. But by then, the guy's name had been dragged through the mud and his multiple other affairs had been made public, so he was done.

If only Newt Gingrige had taken a cue out of the playbook of other disgraced politicians.

The trick in the first case is to get your wife into a coma first. Then you can just kill her off and half the country will praise you for it. :IMHO!:
