It's a common misconception. I have a history degree. This is a fact. I can't prove it, but it's true. That you think I get "owned" on historical events is your opinion.

Just because I don't challenge certain people like @Ancalagon for example, when they point out certain things, it doesn't mean I didn't know the thing he pointed out, it simply means I didn't want to engage with him because he's often times an asshole to me so I feel no need to respond to people that are assholes to me.

Now I could go into longer detail about how history degrees actually work or the fact that if you don't constantly stay on top of your reading, you'll often forget a lot of what you've learned, but that's a much longer discussion.

As far as Ayn Rand goes, you and clown boy keep bringing this up as if I've spent the last ten years praising her or constantly quoting her or something, I haven't. I haven't read any of her books. I don't "worship" at the alter of Ayn Rand and I doubt many libertarians do.

You have built up a cartoonish idea in your head of what you think libertarians are and what they believe so when they subvert your expectations (the strawman you've built in your head), you think that somehow that person is wrong or doesn't understand the libertarian philosophy or they haven't thought out the consequences of that philosophy or you think that they are so rigid in their beliefs that they are unwilling or unable to accept any compromise.

You think that libertarians all think alike and that they don't endorse any regulations on the market or are unwilling to accept some amount of government intervention in the market and some amount of welfare. This is simply not true, it's just that most libertarians see how the welfare clause and the commerce clause has been abused over the past 100+ years.
