DP2 is likely gonna set up X-Force by introing Cable in contemporary 2018, so presuming Bobby and Rictor are who they are, will that mean X FOrce is going to be set in the 2030s?

Finally got to see it, praise be unto Kek for the success of Deadpool for giving Jackman's wolverine a hard R sendoff. I'm not too worried about about continuity for the X-Men films because every other movie reboots it, much like the comics. It will be interesting to see who's gonna be given the claws for X-tinction agenda or whatevers next for the main series.

The plot was depressing. I didn't like the undignified way that Charles was treated, particularly his death. Not very fun to watch at all.

I wanted to see it but I knew Amy wouldn't like the bloodshed.

In particular I wanted to see the driverless trucks and the giant harvesting machines I heard were seen. Can anyone describe them?

The trucks just looked like container trailers with steering wheels and the harvesters just looked like big combines.

    Why?
The stuff we have now was science fiction 20 year sago, but now that we have it, it looks mundane.
A movie set in a near future shooting for realism isn't going to look like 5th Element.

Yeah, it got the point across that it's the future, but that really didn't have much to do the movie.

    Yes.
Part of the appeal of the Marvel universe, is it doesn't live in some fake place on a fake Earth like Metropolis, or the medieval age of an alien planet like "Game Of Thrones", it's set in our world.
Spidey doesn't defend Gotham, he defends New York.
Wolverine's adamantium wasn't put in him my aliens, the Canadian government did it.
Deadpool doesn't listen to Josie And The Pussycats, or Wyld Stallions, he listens to Juice Newton, Wham, and Chicago.

I'd also argue realism could also mean that it's believable. The Nolan Batman movies made it believable that a Billionaire could be Batman, just like the first Iron-Man made it believable that Tony Stark could build the suit. Where as, as much as I like the Tim Burton Batman movies, they don't look like they are set in our world.

noteworthy that two of Marvel's greatest are Canadians...

wonder which NHL teams they each are fans of?

Wolvie's probably all about either the Leafs or Habs... Maybe the Blackhawks... Despite his colours, I can't picture him as a Bruins supporter.

'Pool, otoh, might be a Bruins fan as he's lived there. If he ever was a Flames fan, he likely isn't now... Same thing that despite the same colours, doubtful he'd be into the Senators. I'm actually thinking it might be the Jets that he'd have dreamt about lacing up with as a kid.
