This thread is so posters can tell us what they ate for lunch so we can all hear some new ideas, find out about new places & trends, and general just look at food porn.

Today I am stuck at Lake Forest in Orange County for work but luckily a food truck stopped by my work area serving Egyptian food. I ordered a bowl of Koshary which seemed expensive at $11 but it was really filling. It was kind of a carb bomb with brown rice, macaroni noodles, lentils, garbanzo beans, fried onions, and your choice of meat. I went with the mixed meat combo of chicken, steak, and beef liver. The tomato sauce the put on everything was rather runny but the optional garlic vinegar sauce and "super spicy Egyptian hot sauce" did improve the taste.

Ovrr all I kind of expected a higher level of cuisine from a 10,000 year old civilization as koshary really came off as peasant food for poor people with a ton of carbs and not a green leafy thing in sight. Rather disappointing.

Nothing today but most days it's a Clif bar. I buy them by the case and keep them in one of my lockers at work

Today I had one of Burger King's chicken sammiches. Some applesauce, pineapple chunks, a couple of protein bars and a banana to go with it.

    Speaking of...

I just recently discovered Amazon Prime's subscription service. You can set it up so you automatically/regularly receive things that you order all the time.

So now, instead of me having to remember to order Clif bars when I'm starting to run out, Amazon ships me two cases a month automatically.

Pool party today! Friend is grilling burgers and dogs - I'm bringing summer salad for everyone else (cucumber, sweet tomato, red onion, fresh corn, basil, parsley, lime juice, feta). Looks and smells icky to me but everyone else loves that shit. For me: pineapple, kiwi, watermelon, grapes, and strawberries. :yes2:

    Lunch? What's that?

Usually I don't eat lunch. If I do, it's about once or twice a month. Usually we try out different ethnic places since I work in and around Atlanta. So far, almost every place where been to head been pretty good.

Busy at work so just grabbing some ramen from the little place down the block.

I like the tetsu (dipping) ramen.

I usually go with tonkatsu though salt ramen is a good substitute when a change is needed.

This is normally the part where I brag about how much cooler it is in San Diego, but even along the coast it's been damn close to 90 degrees and unusually humid (tho nowhere near the humid shitshow that was Mississippi or Yokosuka) all fucking month. Took my dog to Coronado twice in one week and both times he begged me to pick him up cuz the sand was just that hot...and this is a dog that never asks to be held, ever. :(

I still haven't eaten lunch today. I am in Irvine so maybe pastrami at The Hat or maybe an Indian buffet. We shall see when there is time for a break though I have now been at work for six hours and no break is in sight. :(

Usually ham and Swiss on a roll, bought in the cafeteria and taken out to my car to avoid humanity while I eat. Once in a while PB&J or a cinnamon/raisin bagel with cream cheese.

Weekends? Frozen pizza; grilled cheese; scrambled eggs with pepperjack melted in; tuna sammich...
