So Bullseye is a one-note caricature? Kingpin? Muse? Vanessa Fisk? Daniel Blake? Or are you talking about the nameless AVTF henchmen? In which case, how do they differ from other comic book henchmen?
The assumptions behind FF's hardon for Kurtzman Trek include: 1. Kurtzman didn't produce good Trek 2. The result was either bad reviews or bad viewing numbers 3. The bad reviews/viewing numbers led to the cancellation of those series 4. With Kurtzman's departure, we may see better Trek. The problem is we don't know the viewership numbers or the targets that would be needed to be considered good, so there's no way to substantiate the viewing. The review numbers from such sources as Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB are relatively good IIRC, and FWTW. The other problem is the assumption that the numbers led to the cancellation of shows when there are numerous other things that factor into the decision to renew or not renew. No matter if Picard was the top rated show ever, it didn't seem like they were going to get PStew to do that in perpetuity, for instance. And the economics of streaming seem to be different, To bounce back to Marvel TV, despite such things as WandaVision almost certainly being a ratings and critical success, we only got one season of it. In fact, Disney+ has only ordered second seasons of Loki and now Wonder Man. An exec said She-Hulk did reasonably well in terms of viewing. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/tv/articles/marvel-tv-boss-says-she-101133439.html The main reason we don't have a second season of Hawkeye may not be because of the ratings or because it was woke, but because Marvel wanted Jeremy Renner to take a steep pay cut, or timing, depending on who or what you believe.
I was possibly mistaken about the children in cages. The rest was correct. It's not an invitation for you to whine until I condemn ICE in exactly the language you want. Give it a fucking rest.
You really have a problem with people having different opinions than you and them expressing those opinions on a DISCUSSION board.
He's the one who just said other people don't have to be involved at all for him to screech his face off.
Right, so your posts are the transcription of your shower argument, and you don't care about our input. You're here to troll.
In any case, @Raoul the Red Shirt... stop engaging in this inane conversation, drop what your doing, and finish watching Andor.
You also "missed" me admitting the part about children in cages might be a mistake, but I'm not watching twice to find out.
I avoided 24 because it was pro-torture. Imagine getting all bent up inside over an anti-torture show. Jesus tapdancing Christ.
More than that, what makes you say that "fuck the po-lice" and "orange man bad" is the "entire fucking personality" of the writers of Daredevil? For someone who complains when people attribute beliefs to you that you do not have, you certainly do not seem to give others that courtesy.
I can buy a girl spiderman. I almost prefer Miles Morales to Peter Parker. But, sorry Nick, I cannot accept a 60 +year old spiderman
IMHO, the thing about spiderman that makes him/her unique in the superhero universe is that his storyline is basically him learning to use his powers. and, if one were so inclined to put meaning to art, one could argue that Peter learning to 'master' his spidey powers is akin to a teenager learning to use the influx of hormones that come with puberty. Not that I necessarily agree with that. But, spiderman or spidergirl will always be a snarky teenager.
No offense, but that is a pretty limited view of his appeal. In fact, I've never heard anyone say that is what they like about him. Never mind that Spider-Man hasn't been "learning" his powers for about fifty years. Most people say that Spidey's appeal is his everyman aspect and his vulnerability.
No offense taken. I mean, unless you actually did intend offense. My opinions are my own. Roaul asked why I couldn't imagine Nick Cage (who is older than I am) as Spiderman. I gave my reasons. Now, you may disagree with those reasons and have a valid opinion, that his appeal is his vulnerability, and that's fine. but it's not right. it's not wrong either. it's just different. I'd even argue that that sort of vulnerability is more iconic of teenagehood than adulthood, let alone 'seniorhood'.
Hot damn, Born Again Season 2 is kicking ass. Id put this higher than just about any other Disney+ Marvel show.
I feel sorry for people who might be like, "I'm not watching this because it's too woke." It fires on pretty much every cylinder: action sequences, tension, character building and arcs, acting, plot. It may be recency bias, but I think this has a claim to be the best traditional superhero live-action season ever.
