I'm unsure what is the point of attaching this meme to this particular post except to say that the writers are now writing spiderman as as an old man. In which case, I'd respond with, as evidenced by the meme you posted, even the writers think an old spiderman is a joke.
That's actually from Earth X, from the late 90's/early 2000s. I'm just trying to say there's room for many iterations, that's all.
TIL that the OG Wonder Man was Danny Kaye. The future Mrs. Thurston Howell III also appeared in the movie with Kaye.
Oh, and before anyone claims that that somehow wasn't a superhero movie, here's another clip from it: BTW, the $2K/week he was bringing home before he was murdered and became a ghost works out to $37K in today's money.
Opening chase from Spider-Noir. Maybe @shootER can explain it, but without shitting on the directors, etc., it's pretty clear that some of the night stuff was shot in broad daylight, with filters/post-processing to make it look like night. Maybe it's deliberate, maybe it's a limitation of the medium, but I noticed it real quick.
I didn't notice anything that was obviously shot day for night (which isn't necessary with modern cameras) but everything had that overprocessed, digital/CGI-enhanced look that's popular with lots of sci-fi/fantasy directors.
The lighting on people's faces after Cage gets up from being hit by a car is where it really jumped out at me that it had been shot in daylight.
Could be, but there's just a whole lotta things about the way things are lit (like Cage's hair being shiny as he puts his hat on) that make me think whoever did it hadn't quite got things right so it looked like it was shot at night, instead of the day.
We watched the first episode. no, it's not spiderman. he's a guy with 'super human' capabilities, sure, but he's not spiderman. Heck, if he produces a female child and names her Mae, I might buy a connection. but .... It's very much a vanity project for a spoiled child from Hollywood Royalty. however, he was smart enough to hire clever writers and a good creative advisor. I also like the option to watch in black and white for a ... I don't know .... immersive? .... experience. I'll give it two thumbs up.
It wouldn't surprise me if just about all of it was shot in a studio. There's definitely green screen work in several of the shots.
Cage is picky about where he works. For some reason he refuses to shoot in Florida. Doing stuff in a studio avoids the issue of having to worry about if your star is willing to work on location.
That and a studio gives the director full control without having to worry about the weather or other unpredictable factors.
It is what it is. Are you now taking FF’s stance and ignoring the completely obvious? Nicolas Cage has been trying desparately for a couple decades to do a superhero movie. He has the looks, voice, bearing, of a villain. He would never be cast as a hero. How is he a spoiled brat? I wanna be a superhero. Where’s my movie? Oh, wait. I’m not Hollywood royalty, that’s where.
Um.... He played Ghost Rider in two films. He voiced Spider-Noir in Into The Spider-Verse, to rave reviews. He's also an Academy Award winning actor beloved by most audiences. And they came to him to do Spider-Noir, not the other way around. He got the part because he worked hard and audiences like him. Nothing to do with being Hollywood royalty.
Ghost Rider is an anti-hero. Not a hero. And voice work isn’t the same as theater or film work. But, yes, youre absofuckinglutely correct. Nicolas Cage is a stand up guy and and excellent actor and I am shit for SAYING A FUCKINGJ THING
Not sure why you seem so upset. I genuinely couldn't understand where your comments about him were coming from.
For Hollywood royalty, Hollywood sure sat back and let him eat a lot of shit sandwiches. He just came off a long ass stretch of doing Troma/Asylum budget shit just to not starve to death.
Well, when ya gotta pay off the IRS in a hurry, you can't exactly wait around for the perfect script.
And now that I think about it, this scene was shot in broad daylight, with filters so that it looked like it was night. (And that's a fiberglass body on a Ford LTD he's driving. Even in 1988, Tuckers were worth too much money to drive like that.)
Wait...this might explain how/why he loses arguments, then starts them up again like they never happened. He might actually have short term memory damage.
