Watched the whole first season of Spider-Noir and overall enjoyed it enough that I might go and watch it in clor. Non-spoiler comments: I think I agree that I would have preferred it be animated or with someone other than Nic Cage. I think he, through no fault of his own, he is one of those people who isn't really acting because of their having been around so long and having a type. I think both the Spider aspect could have been pushed further in having more parallels to the main Spiderverse nd the Noir aspect could have been pushed further in playing with that genre's conventions further. I think it is sort of weird in dealing with race, gender and science. I am surprised that FF watched 2 full episodes and did not find it worth commenting that Cat Hardy has been race-swapped into Asian. Then again, maybe he has gotten over that. the same way that people should get over Silverman being ethnicity swapped from Italian to Irish. Or maybe he hasn't watched a YouTuber to get his talking points about how terrible and woke Spider-Noir is.
Don’t bullshit me. If it genuinely asking a question, you would have phrased it differently. Either way, that’s the answer - regardless of whether or not I’m angry when I say it.
Hollywood didn't put a gun to his head and make him star in crappy movies. He has enough money, talent and clout to be in whatever he wants, essentially. So if he wants to be in, say, Left Behind, that's on him. (Note; never saw LB, will never see LB, so for all I know he was excellent in the role and it's groundbreaking cinema, but to paraphrase Pulp Fiction, it could be the Godfather II, but I'll never know because I'm not watching that motherfucker.)
There's literally no way I could have asked those questions in a more neutral tone. And you're right, that is your answer. Do I agree? No. For one thing, I have a less negative view of voice acting than you do. But that's a basic difference of opinion.
I don't recall giving my opinion of voice acting. and I don't have a negative view of it. In fact, in an alternate universe, my high school drama teacher steered me toward a voice acting career.
I've said it before, I'll say it again: Shit like this is why TV shows now are having such a hard time building an audience. There's no faith in networks to keep the story going. Cowboy Bebop. Spider-Noir. Pokerface. Fucking all of Star Trek. We ALL know that no matter what it is, chances are it will get cut off early.
Pardon my tinfoil hat, but I think they deeeeeesperately want to shove AI slop shows down our throats up to their rage-trembling elbows, and they're setting up the pretext by cancelling all these shows, and pleading poverty. "It's just too expensive!! It's just too expensive!! You damned actors and directors cost too fucking much!! You and your commie fucking unions!! ".
