They've already said they'll have the so-called "millions of people on Medicaid" do the farm work.

Wonkette has a pretty good analysis of the numbers, and basically every Medicaid stat you've heard out of any Republican's mouth is a lie.

Of 71 million people on Medicaid, 30 million are kids, which leaves 41 million adults.

Of those adults, 15 million are working age and not covered by SSI or disability insurance, which leaves 26 million potentially able-bodied adults.

Of those 26 million, 16 million are already working, so now we're at 10 million.

Of those 10 million, 5 million are either students or caregivers.

Of the remaining 5 million, approximately 2.6 million are sick or disabled but haven't been able to jump through all the hoops we make people jump through in order to qualify for SSI.

So we're talking about a little over 2 million people ... and let's not forget that "not considered disabled" and "able to work the kind of backbreaking jobs that undocumented immigrants usually do" are not the same thing.

Republicans loooooove their fantasies about lazy poor people living it up on welfare. These fantasies have basically become a core part of their identity by now. But they're also complete bullshit.

These are the same people who claim to love Jesus, too, and who call the United States a Christian nation. They're honestly just so full of shit that if there really was a god, every last one of them would have been struck by lightning. Of course, many of them don't actually believe, it's just awfully convenient and an easy tool to manipulate the masses who vote themselves out of their own rights.

To put it more bluntly a lot of these people are incapable of dealing with any kind of rules, regulations and paperwork. It's one of the obstacles that they ran into in Salt Lake City with their "housing first" approach to homelessness. All they asked of anyone was that they not create problems with their neighbors or try to burn the place down and there turned out to be a percentage who couldn't even do that. Of course, there are those who use that as an excuse for opposing the entire program, never mind the fact that the overwhelming majority of people on the program were no longer out creating problems on the street and a significant percentage were able to get plugged into the social networks and build better lives for themselves...to the benefit of society at large. The same is true for homeless veterans. While most of those "veterans" are phonies there are some who simply cannot cope with any kind of bureaucracy. When it comes to fucking over as many people as possible, MAGAts will dismiss any documentation that doesn't jive with their sick world view.
