Sounds like they shoved too much into it with little focus on plot other than trying to move the MCU along.
Really? I hadn't read the article. Matter of fact, I can't even read or write; all my posts are in English by lucky accident.
FF being the pillars of the MCU? 1. Didn't know he was a mutant 2. Thing is the only possible candidate, being he's, y'know, stone. Probably stoned, too. 3. The other three are either too squishy, too burny, or just plain not there.
And speaking of mutants, where the fuck are my X-Peeps at. Don't make me get Deadpool to do a fourth-wall-break in a fourth-wall-break in a fourth-wall-break -- finding 64 walls to break's gonna be a pain in the ass but I'll do it
Saw it yesterday afternoon, I thought it was excellent. Maybe a bit too much for casual fans, but this one was pretty epic, a great kickoff to phase 5 and Kang was an excellent big bad.
This is why you need to stop visiting that shithole website, Dickynoo. Reviews are generally glowing and audiences are loving it, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
She's originally from Saskatchewan, which means there's a 98% chance that's she's batshit redneck crazy.
Well, dunno when you last checked, it's about 50-50 with critics. 86% with fans though. The Zack Snyder DC trilogy was savaged by critics, so your point is still made.
I fucked up and was looking at the original Ant-Man, not Quantumania. Sorry about that. The bastards at Rotten Tomatoes put it just below Quantamania so I misread. But my point about the Dark Horizons website still stands.
Also, I just saw Quantumania and this is definitely a case where the critics are out of step with audiences. I thought it was one of the better MCU movies of the past 2-3 years. Sets things up quite nicely for the new big baddie.
I bet a lot of critics aren't actually comic book readers or fans, I see a lot of shit where critics try to review genre stuff and miss the mark because they're out of their wheelhouse and dismissive of things they don't understand.
Hmm, I'd be willing to cure her of the batshit crazy Not much can be done about the redneck part, though.
I've seen Quantumania twice. It's a decent mid-tier Marvel movie.. Jonathan Majors is great as Kang. I think if they had done some tweaks, it could have cracked the A tier. Some good visuals, but if you have D+, you probably are better waiting two or three months for it to debut there and see it without paying the extra money. If people are interested, I'd be happy to share more thoughts with spoilers.
So looking at Phase 5 I think we'll start to see some continuity aligning for the new Avengers team. In particular they look to be using the Rick Jones/Captain Marvel schtick with the Marvels movie, as each character is linked to each other. So Ms Marvel is probably going to be pretty important in that role, as her bracelet from her own series is almost certainly the same conceit as Mar-vell's Nega Bands. With that and several TV characters showing up in Thunberbolts it also looks like the TV series are going to start being impactful to the movies at large. We'll see where they take Loki season 2, as that clearly seems important in the ongoing Kang story. And my bet is we'll see Red Hulk show up in Capt America - New World Order as the Leader is in that one along with the new Harrison Ford incarnation of Thunderbolt Ross. We'll see if he then shows up in Thunderbolts which will be released just a few months after.
Let's just say when I saw Quantumania, the audience gave a very hearty cheer at one of the end-credits cutscenes.
I saw QUANTUMANIA in the movie theater last Saturday & thought it was GREAT. I recommend others see it on the big screen while it's still playing. I thought the villain was interesting. Interested in seeing where the MCU goes from here.
Steven Yeun from The Walking Dead fame has been cast as a 'significant character' who is likely 'to play a role going forward in future films in the MCU'. Yeun will debut in Thunderbolts which looks like may be the concluding movie to Phase 5. As the previous movie has the Leader and Thunderbolt Ross and appears Hulk-centric, we might be getting Amadeus Cho. There's some fan speculation for Sentry, but honestly, I'm not thrilled with that idea for Thunderbolts. No one on that team would cause Sentry to blink an eye. https://nerdist.com/article/thunderbolts-mcu-movie-everything-we-know/
I'm very happy I checked & found this thread , because I almost made a brand new thread about QUANTUMANIA.
Hugh Jackman says he'll be playing a dual role in Deadpool 3. Old/young Wolverine? Fox/MCU Wolverines like multi-Spidey? Clone Wolverines? Speculate! https://www.darkhorizons.com/hugh-jackman-has-dual-role-in-deadpool-3/
Disney might get the sole rights to Hulk and Namor as a bargaining chip in getting rid of Hulu. https://www.darkhorizons.com/disney-may-get-hulk-in-trade-for-hulu/
