Milhouse Calls It Quits

Yeah, so as hard as it is to believe, The Simpsons is still on the air, shitting out new episodes. Pamela Hayden, who does the voice of Milhouse, amongst other characters, is leaving the show. Why is this news? Because the bitch has a serious case of Mar-A-Lago face. And when she says, "Whaaaaaat's uuuuuuup?" she looks like she's wearing the Scream mask.

Isn't there another voice actor for lots of important characters who is 85?

Harry Shearer is probably who you're thinking of, as he's in his 80s.

No idea if she's MAGA, and I haven't watched the Simpsons in probably a decade, but I'm pretty sure the "whaaaaaat's uuuup" is a Milhouse expression so she wasn't being stupid; she was "in character".

Man, all of my favorites are getting so old now. If people are still enjoying new episodes of The Simpsons, I mean, that's cool, but goddamn, 37 YEARS. My favorite seasons are still 1 through 10.

Doesn’t mean that she’s stupid. I mean, I’m not exactly subtle in my comments about her. If I was going to make those kinds of comments about her, WTF would I not use the word “stupid” if I thought that’s what she was being?

Sometimes, it's okay to let things end, and I feel like most people hit that point with the Simpsons back before the invention of the iPod.

Absolutely. My favorite seasons are 1 through 10. Seasons 11, 12, and 13 have some solid episodes, but after that I've forgotten the rest of it, and I really don't care to remember them. AFAIC, the show should have ended around season 10 anyway.

I don't think I've watched a new Simpsons episode since maybe 2002/2003.

Every new season I try to watch a few episodes, and I just don't laugh at them. I'm sure there are people who enjoy them and that's fine, but I just don't even chuckle. Yet if I pop in any episode from seasons 1 to 10, I'll laugh, so I'm not tired of The Simpsons cartoon itself, it's just however the writers are doing it now just doesn't appeal to me.

My dark theory is that Yeardly Smith has Jennifer Lien level mental health problems (she has mentioned suicide attempts in interviews), and Matt Groening and the cast love her, and keep the show going to financially take care of her.

They could pry her away from Scientology if they really wanted to help her.
