A friend once challenged me to come up with the lamest possible superpower. My suggestion: the ability to telepathically control the growth of coral.
Can they speed it up? Maintain it out of water? If so, coral armour and coral entrapment of bad guys. Plus they could, y'know, save a major at-risk part of the ecosystem, which is a pretty damn good deed. Wasn't the cheese-manipulation one from Misfits (OK, lactose-manipulation)? He took out several members of the group and permanently brain-damaged the immortal guy by clogging his cerebral cortex with cheese, before they undid that timeline. As the show pointed out, only lactose-intolerant people have NO dairy in their system and if your morning milk/yoghurt suddenly starts trying to lodge itself in your trachea....
"Lacto-kinesis," actually, but otherwise correct. Great episode. You start out thinking the guy's a total pussy and by the end, you're scared of dairy products.
The Ninjak series is being done by Batinthesun, who you may know from their Batman fanfilms of the 00's. So, they're so good, they're going legit. Here's the trailer.
Apropos of this thread, we have confirmation that the 2016 Doctor Who Xmas Special will have the Doctor facing off with a superhero in "The Return of Doctor Mysterio": First pic, no name yet (that's a G on his chest logo):

An off-brand superhero movie that snuck under my radar until it just came out. "Sleight". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4573516/
David Harbour was rumored to be up for Cable, now it turns out he's Hellboy. Yep, they blocked Del Toro's Hellboy 3 at every single turn until it died, now they pull this reboot right out of their asses. http://www.superherohype.com/news/3...-direct-hellboy-reboot-starring-david-harbour
Can't see any studio taking another chance with Hellboy. First one topped out at $59 million back in 2004, second one did better with $75 million in 2008. Didn't exactly set the box office on fire.
Judge Dredd is going to be a TV show. Seems like they haven't picked a network yet. http://ew.com/tv/2017/05/10/judge-dredd-tv-show/
Sin City is gonna be a show. http://www.superherohype.com/news/3...n-the-works-with-glen-mazzara-and-len-wiseman
"Umbrella Academy", is going to be a Netflix show. The comic is created by Gerard Way from the band My Chemical Romance. The story is...tricky, here's the Wikipedia summary. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Umbrella_Academy#Main_story
Valiant just nabbed Dave Boutista to be Eternal Warrior, and they're looking to snag Jared Leto for Bloodshot.
Mark Millar's MillarWorld has been acquired by Netflix. This includes Kick-Ass, Hit-Girl, Nemesis, and..others. http://www.superherohype.com/news/402609-mark-millar-comic-company-millarworld-acquired-by-netflix
