So a couple of things.

First off, just because something is done in one situation doesn't mean it has to be done in another. This isn't a court of law it's a message board.

Secondly, the two situations aren't the same. Dayton only talked about deleting posts. He also quite quickly backed up and said he was bluffing. And lastly while he is certainly a strange fellow, I don't think he is nearly as mentally unstable/prone to drug/alcohol binges as Castle.

That said, I agree with giving Dayton a break. He's behavior in Chup's BR thread was over the line.

IIRC, it was El Chup asked Dayton where he'd been, and Dayton replied by saying that he'd been keeping a low-profile until his contract was renewed.

Unnecessary in my opinion, Dayton has been blowing hot air about getting boards hacked for the past decade, why pay it attention now?

See this tread, starting with post 221. It was more than just his usual blather about how he'd have it done, he claimed to actually know people who could do it. Of course, its not credible, but neither is a bomb threat called in from a prison cell, but someone who does it is still going to get charged for making one.

Nevertheless, you guys believed Castle could do harm despite a near-total lack of evidence, so you kind of have to treat Dayton the same way or ELITEFORGE!!!!!!!!!

Perception is often more important than reality, Mr PsyOp.

And my perception is that no one really gives a shit about lawyerball, well, except for a couple of lawyers.

Funny, we have at least three on the board. Granted, one of them would probably rather piss on Dayton's grave than defend him here, but then again that particular lawyer tends to take the piss from the rest of the board as a general rule.
