Oregon May Legalize Shrooms!

There are a lot of the bad trip effects and paranoia that can be eliminated through environment. If you are doing an illegal substance and the worry gets into you that you are going to get caught it can very easily work it's way into your subconscious and manifest itself in the trip. Legalizing it may help with some of that, but it is also the mind of the person doing it. If a person worries excessively I would never recommend a trip. There comes a point in a lot of heavier drugs where you start noticing your body functions. Once people start wondering if something is abnormal that can lead down a bad path. Even for some people who know what they are doing. You don't want a person to start getting worried about their heart rhythm because it is a horrible spiral.

Also many drugs can cause shadow movement and seeing things. Auditory hallucinations are also something that can occur and they seem to fool you more than a visual effect. I have known a couple of people to get auditory effects from Cocaine. From what they say it sounds like someone or something bumping around outside or in the walls.

I was wandering around Dragon Con this year on MDMA wearing a medieval dress covered in glitter, that was a fun night.

DC on substance is fun. I personally enjoyed their all night video game room for a nice place to relax. Not to mention it is a nice walk over to awful house by the Ferris wheel while floating.

Although for a big con tripping I prefer Otakon at the Baltimore harbor. The aquarium dance is fun, and the rave in the con center was awesome. Then you can wander down on the piers for some fun.

whatever - after seeing how my wife acts when she was in the throes of severe mental illness (twice now) I can pretty much say I have zero interest in taking any medications or drugs that will alter my behavior, expand my consciousness or otherwise be a detriment to my clear mental functioning or performance. I'm no genius (really, I'm not!) but I want my mental performance to be as good as it can be - that and I think the universe is pretty fucking cool just the way it is - I don't need to alter my perception of it.

It affects different people differently. And of course it would vary by natural tolerance, acquired tolerance, and strain/dosage, among other things.

For a small segment at either end of spectrum, maybe 10 per cent each and I'm just guessing, it might prove disasterous or one of the best things to ever happen, on a mental level. As Huxley put it (and Jim Morrison named his band after), it could open the 'doors of perception.' Once might be all that is necessary for the latter category to realize 95% of the benefit.

Well, tell your pro-weed conservative friends to let Sen. Mitch McConnell know how they feel, as he's against it, and without his support (or Dems gaining control of both houses of Congress in 2020), the situation is unlikely to change.
