After two months with no precipitation, we've finally had a snowfall.
This is me in a whiteout.

One of Lanzman's cats is doing the "one paw on top of the other paw" thing! I love when they do that.

Yeah, of the two of them Clancy is definitely the more chill.

Isn't New Jersey "The Garden State?" Seems to me having a garden there would a lost cause unless the garden is surrounded by a 15 feet tall fence. :( Funny story - guy I work with lives on the edge of the woods so of course he has a very tall electric fence to keep the deer out of his garden. But the deer would constantly stare at his garden and walk along the fence anyway. One day when he was at work some bushes near the fence grew tall enough to short out the fence making it of course safe to touch - and the deer invaded and destroyed half his garden. :brood:

Oh, we absolutely have neighbors with fences around their gardens!
And never mind the deer, my nextdoor neighbor has pictures of two bears climbing over their 4-foot fence to get at the bird feeder!

Yes I forgot New Jersey is knee-deep in bears too. You can't keep them away from bird-feeders and swimming pools.

Yes, it's the garden state, but I live in Marietta. These guys are welcome, they're strays from Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Natl Park just up the road.

oh I must have gotten your deer mixed up with Forbin's deer. Suburb deer are suburb deer though - they all adapt really quick to having humans around - except for the whole "moving vehicles" issue.

Not my cat - just a visitor. His name's George and he lives a few houses down - he visits a couple of times a day to get dry kitty snacks and attention, and tease our two indoor cats at our back patio window. He doesn't have one shining green eye, though that would be pretty cool - it's just the camera flash doing it. Really nice cat, loves to roll around and get belly rubbed. If he's strolling around the street and sees my car coming on my way home he'll run down and get my attention to get his snacks!

I made one and moved the 2017 posts from of the 2016 thread into it before I realized @Lanzman had already made a 2017 pictures thread.

When I merged the threads, for some reason it shows that @steve2^4 created it.

    Sorry, @Lanzman. :(

It's pretty good for a chain.

There's one not too far from my house and it always makes me smile to know that a convenient option for Italian food is locally owned by a Jewish family (their kids went to school with my kids).

My grandfather put in a ten floor fence to keep the deer out of his garden. It worked on them, not the woodchucks. They tunneled under the cyclone sense pretty fast.

Not many nice days these past three months. Today we had a beautiful day -- on a Sunday! So there were plenty of slightly shocked-looking people out. I went down to the lakeside.

We had a lame deer camped out in the backyard for 3 weeks. Looks like he'd gotten whacked. He did a nice job trimming the ivy and then limped away. Sorry, no pics.

I've been drawing pretty much my entire life, but when a friend took this picture of me the other night, I realized it was the first one ever taken of me doing it.
