Planted my flowers for the year. Going to leave them in the garage overnight to avoid a potential freeze.
The (unavoidably) slow prices of building my display cabinet wall continues. I finished a second unit of the larger sized pieces. It's tedious work, but I'm excited for how it will look when it's done. I do plan to put them on risers. I thought I'd be okay with the flat-on- the-floor look, but...nah. Fortunately, I found some good risers on Amazon.
http://wordforge.net/index.php?posts/3517190/ Damn near a year and a half later, finally out of hibernation, with a bunch of new stuff.
It's a '78. Second CJ7 I've owned. DMV requires it to have "former military vehicle" on the license plate, so I'm thinking she started life on a military base down in Texas, where I bought her.
Those are what we call a carnival here. And they're run by Carnies! Usually a few people die on the rides. Makes it more fun for those who don't.
Our fairs usually have animals. Animals and rides and food and events. I remember a traveling thing that had just rides when we were growing up.
You're thinking of a county or state fair. Or a circus. Depends on whether the animals are ridden or slaughtered. A Carnival is usually just Carnies... Travelers... Gypsies. My favorite is Cirque du Soliel where only people are abused.
In Stratford, bitches. Saw some Shakespeare. Ate some Thai. Drank some gin tonics. Besides Justin Bieber and William Shatner, this town produced me.
I saw an actual circle jerk performance live on stage!!! During "The Winter's Tale" there was a bacchanalian harvest festival in the woods of Bohemia. Dancers dressed as rams with cod pouches and protruding bulbous phalli danced in a circle while grasping each other's red member. I almost cried it was so beautiful. I was adequately anesthetized with gintonics but I doubt the blue-hairs below me were. It was a stunning moment in theatre.
My display is now put together, and the dolls organized. I have a DeLorian, with Doc and Marty, that I'll be adding to the Predator/Terminator case on Father's Day as well.
Indeed. Here are some close pics of the individual cabinets: There are spaces left for other upcoming figures. I'm opening up the DeLorian from BTTF 2, with Doc and Marty, for Father's day, and that will go in the cabinet with Terminator, MacReady, etc. There's still plenty of space for the Star Trek figures, which is the series I'm still actively collecting. Most everyone else is done, though I still have a Pfeiffer Catwoman, Scarecrow, Keaton Batman, Romulus Alien, X-23, Mr. Knight and Han Solo on the way too. I have a separate cabinet for miscellaneous figures, but that's too many pics for one post!
And this cabinet, the first my wife gave me, which i kept for sentimental reasons and am using for miscellaneous figures:
All of these pics are amazing and what a collection. What I said earlier is true. Hobbies like these are an important diversion from everyday concerns. A lot of time, money, and effort went into that for sure.
