That the one that a Russian judge lied because they just didn't like losing?
Didn't help that JK Rowling and Richard Dawkins got on that fucking bandwagon.
    Assholes.

Yeah, the Russian boxing organization lied because she had recently beat one of their competitors.
If Imane Khalif was trans, Algeria would have likely arrested and imprisoned her, as being a member of the LGBTQ+ community in Algeria is illegal and punishable by imprisonment, and that's if they make it to prison, because the police are often complicit in murdering LGBTQ+ folks.

But those are facts, and facts have no place in bigotry, never have.

Yeah I just googled it, was tough to remember. Besides, I'm more of a Winter Olympics guy

Sounds like she (and everyone else in boxing) have to take gender tests now if they want to compete

As much as conservatives love shitting on trans people, they are almost equally enamored of shitting on cisgender women who don't perform femininity to their satisfaction, so it's a win-win.

That's what all of this is really about. Yeah, they want to beat up the uppity transes, but they also want to go after those women who think they have the right to control their own bodies, including what they can and can't wear and do outside of the kitchen. That's why so many of us talk about how the anti-trans movement is just as potently anti-woman. It's about control over the bodies of people they deem inferior.

It's why they don't focus so much on trans men. They see these people as women trying to become men, which they can respect to a small degree, as who wouldn't want to be a man? They will slap them down hard, yeah, but that's not their primary focus.

The focus is on trans women because why would a man want to be a woman? They're traitors to their proper sex, and it infuriates these patriarchal shitheads.

The sin committed by trans men is the sin of not fulfilling their God-given role as appropriately feminine-looking carriers of vaginas for conservative men to stick their dicks into.

True. On some level, though, these cisgender men are attracted to a woman trying to be more like a man. It's like when a woman loves motorcycles, leather jackets, and racing. Yeah, that's a "man's" sport, but it's okay if she's really attractive because, like you say, they want to fuck that kind of woman as long as she knows who is in charge. These men almost always have frighteningly fragile egos, their entire identity runs on the tenuous notion that men are better hunters, better thinkers, better fighters, and that women are better at being mothers.

At the end of the day, the woman still has to be subordinate to men and the affectation must be put aside when a man wants something from her. They're hypocrites in the extreme, the same men who claim to support God's Divine Plan and demand chastity from women (when it's not them), while going out and fucking a prostitute and blaming a wife for not satisfying his sexual needs at home. It's always the fault of women, which is why it's the fault of trans women when these same fragile men kill them for "being a man."

It all comes back to a cisgender heterosexual male's fragile ego, their glass emotions which are sharp but brittle, and ones who claim everyone else is the problem because god forbid they look inward for even a moment.

There have been whole books written on the subject by highly accredited sociologists, psychologists, and therapists.

This precedes the Dump administration, but it’s absolutely appalling how many corporations, non-profits, and other entities treat Executive Orders as if they are the exact same thing as law. God forbid they read the Constitution.

The US government and most major corporations are in bed together. They are mutual beneficiaries to these things. They use the Executive Order as a fig leaf to make obscene profit and then blame it on the market/the law.

Would throwing a tantrum every time there's even the slightest, most remote, hint of a chance, that it might be plausible, to think that someone might want you to do something you don't want to do constitute more than your refusal to do something for others?

There's also that thing where a lot of straight guys are afraid they might accidentally think a transwoman is attractive, and then find out it's a transwoman after, and then it's too late, they've caught Teh Ghey.

I'm pretty sure that's at least 60% of what all this is about.

Indeed. When a straight guy like that sees a trans woman, all he can think about, clearly, is penis. Penis penis penis and more penis. He thinks more about penis than trans people think about penis.

I don't think remarking on a message board constitues a tantrum. The question of what I am willing to do for someone is only on the table when I am given a choice.

Nobody likes being deceived. That is neither "phobic" nor "bigoted."

honestly, I think it has more to do with they have a harder time clocking a trans man-and if they do notice anything, they'll just presume he's gay/girly.

In that same vein, I like to post nice little updates when I can, and so here's how things went with one of the former Trump guys today:

I was talking to him today while we watched cartoons on the TV we have in our booth. It was Bugs Bunny, and he was dressed as a woman, as Bugs does on occasion, and a few moments later, my booth neighbor says "I was just thinking, you see how Bugs is dressed there?" and I replied "yeah," and he says "well this kind of stuff didn't shock anyone back then. Most people liked it."

I agreed with him, and I asked him "what do you think that means?" and he replied, "I think all of this trans stuff going on is being ginned up to get us angry at people."

I nodded my head and said "well, it's not the trans people making those waves," and he answered "I think it's Trump. I think he wants us to kind of hate each other so we don't notice what he's doing in the White House. I mean, think about it," he continued, and I wasn't going to stop him, he was on a roll, "we have Dustin Hoffman as Tootsie, John Travolta played Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, Patrick Swayze was in To Wong Foo, and there's RuPaul and people like her. Trans people and people in drag have been entertaining us for a hundred years without anyone saying anything."

Then he pointed at the lesbian couple running the booth across from us and said "they're sweet people, and they've been nothing but nice to us. Why should I hate them?"

And all I could say was "exactly."

We have a new ally. This was the culmination of months worth of just trying to be a good example, being open minded and using my empathy to get some of these guys to really think about what they know and what they've been told.

    I am so very pleased.
