No, I just don't handle his batshit nonsense with kid gloves. Feeling entitled to special sensitivity doesn't make you a victim when you don't receive it.
What's that? I can't hear you over the sound of you telling women they ought to be offended about trans women in sports.
A little bit of sweet news in all of this mess. WNBA Coach Cheryl Reeve Wore “Trans Kids Belong” While Beating Sophie Cunningham’s Team The crowd was equally indignant, reportedly booing whenever Cunningham touched the ball. Source: https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/wnba-coach-cheryl-reeve-wore-trans Most people have figured out, it seems, that this isn't at all about trans people in sports, or "protecting women," it's about control. If our government truly cared about protecting women and girls it would have already released the Epstein files, it would restore Roe v. Wade, it would remove the wage gap, it would create paid maternity leave for all mothers, it would build a robust safety net to protect abused women, it would push its police to actually solve the thousands of backlogged rape cases that they have shelved, if they genuinely cared, that's what they'd do, but they don't care, it's not about protecting women, it's about controlling them and using trans people as the latest bogeyman to make it happen.
The coach and other trans supporters seem like the really unhinged ones here. Everything Cunningham said was perfectly fine and pretty benign
That's because you agree with her, your viewpoints and goals are similar. It's not uncommon for a bigot to agree with another bigot. When she joins the Christian grift along with Riley Gaines and others, you can send her money to show your support.
I have no idea what her viewpoints and goals are outside of her masterclass pointing. If you think the factual statement "trans women are biological men" is bigoted then I 'm afraid the problem lies with you and your inability to cool your emotions when confronted with facts
No, sweetie, you don't get to pull the "you're being emotional" card and some DARVO bullshit along with your lying about not knowing her viewpoints and goals outside of the viewpoints and goals you already stated that you said was perfectly fine and benign. You prodded for a reaction, and you got it. There's your attention for today. Maybe tomorrow you'll call someone gay or make a joke that was funny or relevant 20 years ago and get a little more attention. You know, Bill Maher actually gets paid to be this dense and obtuse. You should aim higher.
Yes my bad, you've always been very grounded and logical, never hysterical or manic. I must have been thinking of someone else
I'm not always logical, nor always grounded, and I do get emotional, especially when something affects me or the people I care about, but what you're doing is a bullshit tactic. It's a very tired tactic, the man who steps in to take up the air in the room and be the devil's advocate to a group of people who don't need any more devils advocating for their harm. Someone who can be relied upon to take a position that benefits the status quo while making it seem like the people protesting are the ones out of touch with how "the real world" works. In social circles, you're the type who can be counted upon to sell people out for your continued comfort. The party can't end, it has to keep going, so if that means pretending your idea of normalcy is just one policy away then you're willing to ignore what that policy represents. You wouldn't rat out Anne Frank and her family directly, but you'd have sent the police to the right house next door and washed your hands of any responsibility because at least finally it would be quiet.
It's just talking on a message board - you're just uncomfortable with the truth and don't want to have any other opinions than yours flying around the room so you have to describe it as a "tactic"
No, it's not just talking on a message board. You're a real person and I'm a real person, and the things being talked about are what's happening to people you'd rather just shut up so you can pretend everything is fine, because for you it might be. Regardless, it's not just talking just like Charlie Kirk wasn't just debating.
This is the most incredible leap in logic I’ve ever seen I’m not even shook by it, I’m literally impressed
'i have no idea of her viewpoints' do you have reading comprehension problems? her view point has been stated all over the world at this 'point' (get the pun) and all you can come up with is that she 'points' really bubba???? really
Aryna Sabalenka, Jess Pegula and Coco Gauff - the world #1, #3 and #4 respectively in women's tennis - have all come out in favor of the genetic testing that's starting in the WTA citing their support for fairness in their sport https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/martina-navratilova-sporting-community-divided-180957583.html https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/world-no-1-aryna-sabalenka-004822920.html https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/jessica-pegula-no-problem-wtas-155734489.html Very significant
Coco Gauff said: Which is your purpose here, to attack trans people under the pretense you give a single fuck about womens sports. Also, the testing for the SRY gene and making that the determining factor? That is a whole bucket of worms being opened up, and I think some of the women who are in favor of it now might not be should those tests come back and the WTA saying "sorry, you're technically a man." What all of this does is makes certain that women don't have control of their bodies, that they will be glad handed and patronized by men who don't want women to have control of their bodies, all in the name of "protecting women's sports." You want to protect women's sports about as much as the GOP wants to protect children. You're just weird and sad, my dude. Keep posting in the trans thread, though, because it's definitely not weird for a cis guy to be so obsessed. It's done wonders for Uncle Albert.
Buddy you have no idea how much women's tennis I've watched. I was watching Sabalenka sweat her arse off in 39 degree weather on center court in Indian Wells last year My daughter and I just got a whole bunch of autographs from the women players at the Odlum Brown Open 2 weeks ago As usual you're way off, nothing new. This is very significant story despite how much you don't want it to be Honestly it's you that's shitting all over women's sports at a time when support is greatly needed It will never cease to amaze me how fast you went from believe all women to fuck them hoes
Whatever any given individual may think - or believe that they think - none of this happens in a vacuum. We still live in a culture that until VERY recently would generally not allow a woman to choose tubal ligation without the consent of the man she was in a relationship with - and if she wasn't in one, well, sucks to be her. There a long and dark history of females in this country lacking medical autonomy in a way that's never been applied to males.
yeah boy tennis will save the world just look at how much good that 39 degree weather workout did for the world. won't someone pine for the poor tennis players.
No, I enjoy going to sporting events. The BNP Paribas Open is considered the “5th Grand Slam”, the field of players and the quality of tennis is excellent I’ll be at Chelsea/Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on October 24th, come on down for a pint and we can talk more about how damaging @Coloratura ’s belief system is for women’s sports
