Parts of the transcripts from the jury selection in his fraud trial have been released, and it's some of the funniest shit I've ever read.

I'm thinking most people don't have a fucking clue as to what "securities and wire fraud" even means. They do however have a clue as to what "raising prices 5,000 percent means" so of course they think that's what the trial is all about. Nobody really gives a shit about the techniques of white collar crime like embezzlement, securities & wire fraud, insider trading, bribery & kickbacks, and so forth. I assume everyone does it and that's just business as usual. But people not being able to afford medicine affects nearly 100 percent of US families. They need to move this trial to a 3rd World nation where nobody has any medication or money to buy it anyway to find unbiased jurors.

Jacking up the prices of pharmaceuticals, not a big deal. Committing fraud, no one cares. Disrespecting the Wu-Tang Clan, completely inexcusable. I mean, Wu-Tang Clan ain't nothin' to fuck with.

    What garamet said.

America has this reverse-bigotry where people who have "the American dream", are the precious jewels of society that need protecting, because to lock them up is to lock up the dream.
To which I say, fuck your dreams, crime is crime. :brood:

^Well, it was Brooklyn. Still, color me surprised. What will he get? A slap on the wrist? Community service? If I were in charge, I'd make him serve 100 days in a hospice for HIV/AIDS patients, or maybe a NICU with infants so tiny they won't survive without his drug. Instead, he'll get six months in a country club facility for rich white boys.

Then again, maybe someone else in there will have a relative who died without the drug... :brood:

I think of the Neuremberg trail Nazis who had their noses self-righteously in the air until the noose cracked their necks.
Shitheads like this lack empathy, the Mister Scrooge routine isn't going to work.
You seal them in a box forever, or you press their "off", button with a bullet.
    That's the choices.

Did no one tell Shkreli that he should focus on pushing the drugs, but not actually taking the drugs? That's drug dealing 101 man--don't get hooked on your supply.

I am thinking a fair number of them are dirt bags. My nephew's father in law recently got caught doing some stuff which got him disbarred. So now my sister and her husband have the joy of hosting their young son, his wife, and their new born.

Yeah, the punk bragged that he would only do a couple of years in Club Fed. Wonder if he's still got that smirk after a few months in the Big House? No I am not gloating, just getting some amusement out of something over which I have no influence whatever. ;)
