For those who don't know we are renovating an old one room school house to rent out. We moved it last summer about 6 miles from where it had been moved to in the 50's.

Facebook seems to automatically get photos down to a really small size when pulling them in there. You may need to repost them from the originals instead.

I've seen them over there. Awesome work. Wasn't sure what the final goal was before now, though.

I like it! It would be cool to live in an old renovated schoolhouse.

Except it's kinda small. I know it's over a 1000 sq ft, but it still seems a little small for a house. And I know a lot of houses are smaller than that. But you add in the thickness of walls and it really starts to add up.

First house I "bought" was right at 1,000 square feet.

It always warms my heart to see such older structures reutilized instead of being turned into a debris pile.

    That looks great!

It'll look better when it's done. To bad we have about 3 phases in mind and more keep coming to us. So who knows when that will be done. lol :P

Yeah. It's like they say in the Marine Corps: Site improvement is continual. My big Phase 1 projects are:
    -Countertops in the kitchen
    -Concrete floor in the garage
    -Roof
-Tear down "bonus room" and turn it into the patio it should be.

Once all that is done (and I've got positive cash flow) the carpeting (and probably the vinyl in the kitchen) comes up and either the floors get refinished or laminate goes down (depending on condition).

But there is a host of little projects--finishing up missing/crappy bits of trim, paint touch-up, doors for closets and linen cabinets (instead of curtains), landscaping, new furnace grates, digging a system of tunnels in the back yard to create a 7/8 scale replica of Stargate Command, etc...

Are you going to make rooms or leave it wide open?

Your recent pictures on Facebook are pretty cool. :techman:

Just keep at it. One day it will happen. May I ask how much it cost to move that building? How did you do it?

It always takes a few years to get a business that far anyways.

Besides, you're quite obviously going down the right path.

I think it was like 3500 to move and by truck.
