I like how he used "hate speech" and "disrespecting the President" as reasons to repeal the First Amendment. It shows how little we are willing to tolerate each other's opinions.
Perhaps we should just change it to where its like that EU constitution. "The people shall have free speech to the extent limited by law" Then we could be just like China and Iran. Yep. Just say "the First Amendment is what lets people burn the flag and worship Allah," and you'd have pretty good luck in the South and a good portion of the Midwest...
Don't need to repeal it. For all practical purposes, it's already been done. When you can't criticize the policies of a president who happens to be black or even talk about American history without being accused of racism, the 1st Amendment is dead in the water. America - it was good while it lasted.
Yeah, because running right up to a cop, getting in their face and making quick movements with your hands right in front of their face isn't threatening at all.
Oh, come off it. It was very obvious to the cop that he was in no danger. He just lost his temper and accommodated some asshole's desperate pleading for a beat down.
It means the 1st amendment is alive and well, because assholes get to talk too, and you can use your speech, your mind, to zap 'em back. Cry me some tears when they haul you off to jail like Lenny Bruce.
