How does an admin --an owner, no less-- get a warning for trolling? Dammit Gul, don't undermine member confidence. If the board software permitted me the option of giving you a warning, I would have

So, in summary: Castle's content notwithstanding (and this is not the thread to discuss that), one warning, one rejection, and disappointing behavior from an admin.

If any of you disagree with my assessment, by all means. The actual reports are still open.

I agree with your assessment. The Blue Room is supposed to be the one place free to make "safe" posts. If that is true, then the rules must be enforced.

Okay, looked through the thread and posted in Castle's thread. Hopefully everything will cool down.

Taking the crap into the Blue Room is really weak sauce. Everyone should know better by now.

I've closed one of these (where you took action) and two other offshoot reports that did not require any action. I've left open the reports regarding chup and me.

Regarding mine, please close it and put a reason statement in the field that sends feedback to the person who made the report. You can use language along the lines of "issue revisited by ownership, rules clarified," or however else you might wish to describe it.

Regarding chup's, you might want to take another look, I'm not sure you read it right. Your response makes me think you were evaluating whether chup had violated a rule (and I agree he did not), but it was actually chup who made the report, regarding what Castle had said. My personal opinion is that Castle's statement is also not warnable, but I'd like you to make your own determination, then close it (again with the report back function in use).

Finally, regarding Liet's warning. I think that he, like me, was under the impression that Castle had opened the thread to trolling by his own actions. As I contributed to the appearance that such was true, I'm not sure that a warning to Liet was appropriate. That said, I respect whatever decision you make in that regard.

I think that two particular posts say a great deal about inconsistency here. I am going to resist the urge to point fingers. Suffice it to say that when I was a mod the remit was that those on the staff should refrain from trolling and generally causing division.

I'd also point out that in respect of my above report, I wasn't just referring to Castle's comments about the person who broke the rules, but also against others who hadn't. Comments about those people were NOT substantiated. In any event, it's not worth a drama.

Did I really copy and paste my complaint? Odd, that.
