In other news, even tho this is certainly a sad day I'm glad that something was done at last.

Well what is there actually on Faisent apart from a message from Gul that implies Faisent was leaking information to him?

So no mention of gul's repeated and deliberate efforts to foster drama and bring down mods, so the appearance is that gul was banned for a veiled threat?

Unfortunately, fostering drama and trying to bring down mods isn't against the rules, otherwise Face would have been banned a long time ago.

Bringing down mods is an ancient troll activity, going back to TBBS days. In and of itself it isn't ban-able. But gul does need a good stern lecture about his conduct and about his dealings with faisant.

That's what had me scratching my head. I assume that the threat is the official reason, and it may have a bit more legitimacy attached to it, but it wasn't the real reason...unless I'm mistaken?

Yeah, and by not providing evidence that gul is a rabblerouser who takes glee in drama (no better than Face, Zodiac, etc) it makes him a bit of a martyr, it's already happening.

And I can't say anything, because no one else has seen the evidence.

If fasiant gets killed, gul's extra-curricular activities will also have to come to light...eventually.

It all comes down to how much info can we release to the board right now. Yes, there is more justification to ban gul than Elwood let on, IMO, but until Elwood gives the green light, we really can't saw much in public.
