I would also say that prior to the Clintons, the Republican party both valued compromise and was something worth negotiating with. Though the Republican party still had some crazies, it generally had respect for Democrats and did not paint the party as evil that must be destroyed as the current Republican party does.
Look, those womens health is a small thing to sacrifice in order that @Chaos Descending can know his bronze age religion is being used to rule peoples lives.

Biden decided not to do anything because it wouldn't be worth the legal battles. Sorry cis women, trans men, and non-binary folks who can get pregnant, looks like it's not worth the hassle. Send me $15. Source: https://news.bloomberglaw.com/healt...tion-over-roe-decision?context=search&index=0 Not to put too fine a point on it, but up until 2019, Joe Biden still fully supported the Hyde Amendment, and that only changed after fellow Democratic candidates pounced on him for it. All of us deserve better than this administration. We deserve better than this system we're in, and voting isn't going to be nearly enough to actually protect the rights of cis women, trans men, and non-binary folks. If you can get pregnant, then you are in grave danger in the United States, and it does not look as if the US government is in any rush to actually help you. Vote harder and send me $15.
Pregnant woman says her fetus should count as a passenger in HOV lanes. She got a ticket The overturning of the Roe v. Wade ruling has one driver questioning HOV lane laws requiring two passengers in a car.
You find these things a lot in state laws. For example a paintball gun or slingshot is not considered the same as a gun when it comes to purchase and storage with most state laws, but they are considered firearms based on the definition in hunting restrictions which limit where you can shoot one. In some cases it does have some logical reasoning based on the intentions of the lawmakers. I could see not considering abortion murder, but also making an argument that at some point that group of cells becomes a life with societal protections. I do like the argument the woman uses, and it does point out the mental gymnastics the right is using to try and claim personhood in the womb to punish women for abortions.
I was on vacation so I will respond to this now. The societal contract defines a right to life for children. At some point that collection of cells growing in a woman's body becomes a person who has the protection of societal laws. We also have special responsibilities for parents regarding their children which include punishments for abuse and neglect. As a parent you are not allowed to take the life of your child at a certain point even though as a mother at some point those cells were a functioning part of your body's anatomy and under you autonomy. So there is an actual societal argument for defining when life begins and when that group of cells becomes a life protected from assault and murder charges. This is an actual argument due to the natural process of birth. The law (social contracts) needs a legal line and does not do well with interpretive judgements. There is a legitimate argument where that line is for the purpose of defining when a person becomes an individual. It becomes even more involved because pregnancy viability does not start at the moment of birth, but rather becomes real at a point during pregnancy. So yes there is a societal concern with when it becomes a baby with protections from the mother. At some point all of us become an individual where our parents are not allowed to just kill us. That is for women and men because we all come from another human being who might decide to kill us based on their own free will. So there is some validity to the protection for the child against the mother at a certain point, and there needs to be a discussion as to when that point is. The only thing I will say regarding the anti-abortion stance is that 99 percent of that is intellectually dishonest, especially when justified by theology rather than science, but your wrong that it is only women who have an interest in when abortion can be done. The developing fetus does become a child at some point in the process and then falls under the protections of the state rather than the mother.

This has been going on for a while. I don't recall you being outraged over this. How do you feel about this? Funny how "Law and Order" types have blind spots in their ideology.
Isn't that the point of holding popular elections for positions that in most countries would be appointed?
Not surprised that FF doesn't understand how DAs work. They fail to prosecute shit all the time, sometimes accidentally, but mostly deliberately.
If she's elected, it will be because the majority of the people in her jurisdiction voted for her. Which is more than anyone can say for the Supreme Court ... or for the president who appointed three of its justices.
Good question. If we are a democracy why are trying to make it possible for people who are in the minority to dominate the majority? * Waiting for the 'We're a republic not a democracy'
Your schtick is wearing thin. You should probably spend summer break coming up with more material before your junior year. You'll need to start focusing on your driver's license and college applications, after all.
