Precisely this. The two permabans that we have had in the Horsemen era were a response to efforts to cause board-wide damage, not plain vanilla trolling. There is likely never going to be a written rule to address such things, because the kind of people who want to take that path are good at finding ways to do it within the rules.

As for Ramen, part of why he was only given a temporary ban is because we had some idea that a rule could actually address his behavior. And part of it was nostalgia for the fact that he was a founding member. The rule is there, now, so we'll see how that goes.

Well, you can turn anything silly with hyperbole, but he did manage to put a stop to most serious political debates, and those are a major part of WF.

Can you point out three threads during his active time that sustained serious debate? I've already pointed out six from the week after he left earlier in this thread.

If he did, it was only in the same sense that Dayton has done so. Which is to say that it is entirely on the people who responded to him like a bunch of morons and interrupted said debates instead of simply ignoring him and continuing the debate if that's what they really wanted. I'd also point out that wild topic changes have been a thing at Wordforge since long before gturner ever joined, so you can hardly us that as a reason to label him as a threat to the board. I'd also point out that he actually did have some good points from time to time, which were simply ignored because of who they were coming from, and as others have pointed out, he did make plenty of contributions to the board outside of the RR.

Why? There are other boards around for serious political discussion if that's what you really want. I was actually a member of one for a while, but the problem was it was pretty boring.

Curtail Dayton and there's little reason to come here anymore. Where else can you get that sort of entertainment for free?
