In the meanwhile conservative strategists have stated that perhaps the single most vulnerable point of the Trump presidential run in the primaries is the fact he has openly stated he backs the vaccine. This is one of the reasons more people are now back DeSantis, because he didn't. This despite how absolutely horrible Trump's response to the virus was. Many of the GOP based wanted it to be considerably more horrible.

Death cult straight to the bottom.

DeSantis did too. There's plenty of video of him saying basically the same things about the vaccine that rabid anti-vaxxers and their useful-idiot assistants attack Biden for saying.

He might have an easier time backtracking, though. I guess he can always say "they lied to me, too," while Trump, with his whining that it should be called the Trump Vaccine, positioned himself as part of the "they" in question.

If a Muslim and a Jew opened a pulled pork sandwich wagon, and when you asked for one, they just painted barbecue sauce on a hoagie roll, and stared at you, they'd be laughed out of business pretty fucking quick.
Make it a pharmacist with a conspiracy theory or a "moral stance" holding medicine hostage, and everyone acts like a 3-foot thick plexiglass bubble closed up around them.
"*Dong, dong, dong* nope, nothing's getting through that. We just have to give up ".

Moderna says that they're going to raise the price of the vaccine. Bernie Sanders asked the head of Moderna to come explain to the Senate why they have to raise the price. Moderna's CEO says, "Sure! And don't worry, Americans will still get the vaccine for free."

Huh. Imagine that. And it didn't even take trying to get a law passed to make it happen (though they should probably pass a law, anyway).

Went and got the latest booster today. Arm's a little sore, but I'm not nearly as tired as I have been after previous doses.

Yeah Moderna bivalent side effects were not nearly as bad as standard Moderna.

I got my fourth booster, Pfizer BioNtech in the middle of January. Didn't really feel anything from it, maybe a slight headache and my arm was a little sore. Not much else though.

Huh, I swear there was a post here linking to the Cochrane meta-study that said that masks and/or mask mandates don’t work. But I don’t see it. So if you do see it out there, link this: https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/masks-revisited/ TLDR: the choice of studies to include was deliberately made to exclude the kinds of studies that would show an effect. Although it’s not mentioned in the article, the first comment points out that the lead author of the meta-study has been pushing antimask, antivax rhetoric for years.

Well, I think that this explains why Cochrane abandons medicine and goes on to invent warp drive.

I've probably said this before, but the irony of all this is that COVID-19 should have overwhelmingly affected liberal areas of the country. It arrived first in the major cosmopolitan port cities, and it spreads best in places with high population density -- how easily can you social distance when you live in a skyscraper with 500 other people and are constantly sharing hallways, lobbies and elevators with them? And since the first waves, when we didn't really know what to do, all hit the big cities, everybody else should have been able to watch and learn and mitigate the effects by the time the next wave got to them.

That it has cut such a swath of destruction through Trumpistan is a testament to just how big a case of the stupids the right wing in this country has developed.

Yes, the DoE released a paper that thought it was the most likely source. They rated their confidence in this as 'Low.' And we should all expect the Dept of Energy to take the lead on medical testing. LOL.

Every other American group, including the NIH and CDC, still say the most likely source is bats then natural mutation.

As does the World Health Organization, which actually inspected the lab.

But click bait. Because what conservative actually bothers to read the article?
