I have the smart lights set to go on at 6:30am every morning. On Sundays I'm out of bed by 7:15-7:30am. This morning when I got up, walked into the the living room, looked at the Alexa and Google screens, it was 8:28am. I was trying to figure out how I overslept so much. Made coffee, put a cinnamon bun into the microwave and the time was 7:35am. I got confused as hell, looked at my phone at the same time I said "Alexa, what time is... oh, fucking daylight savings time". She responded "Hmmm, I'm not quite sure how to help you with that." And still haven't changed the time on the microwave, stove, coffee maker.
What's the point of clocks? If I want someone to be somewhere or do something at a certain time, they never are. No one has ever been on time when I want something. Sometimes they're only five minutes late, but usually it's 30-60 minutes, if not more. I'm not allowed to be upset about this. And I better fucking wait until they're good and ready otherwise I'm the biggest piece of shit ever. If someone wants me to do something at a specific time, and I'm even a minute late, suddenly I'm the biggest unreliable piece of shit ever and I've ruined everything. If someone wants me to do something at a specific time, and I'm ready to go at said time, somehow I still fucked up! They say some shit like "on time is fifteen minutes late!" and then tell me they'll be ready for me in half an hour. How the fuck you gonna make me wait half an hour and complain that I wasn't here fifteen minutes ago?! What's the point of clocks when 10:00 means 9:45 for me and sometime between 10:30 and 2:45 for everyone else?
really? how? When? in what form? my current rate of pay? Why am I not getting what's mine? Who's face do I need to put a gun in?
So in my province of British Colombia, this was our last DST ever. We will be sticking with this time moving forward, no more clock changes It's going to be a bit confusing for a bit, I think - California, which is in our timezone, will at some parts of the year be an hour behind us? Or an hour ahead? Fuck
I have heard that the original idea came from a man whose blanket was too short, so he solved the problem by cutting a piece off one end and sewing it on the other...
