Should burning the American flag be illegal?

As far as I could see there are two ways in which it could be "trolling the left".

1. Getting them to publicly speak out against something they have supported.

or

2. Say something only the left would be against purely to prompt a response from them.

Is there a third option I'm missing? Because if it's the second, then you're saying the right wouldn't speak out against the idea of revoking Americans citizenship for what has been ruled as constitutionally protected speech? Please explain exactly what the point is.

I thought the Marine thing happened in Florida, it was just a shouting match, and no one got arrested.

We had a similar incident here. Illegal alien filth burning the US flag as part of a "protest" and some off duty Marines taking exception. Like I said, the illegal scum deserved it because when you set out to provoke people you don't get to complain when the provoked people react.
