A bit of trivia. NASA basically implemented the SUBSAFE program on the Space Shuttles after the Columbia explosion.
Just F-off everyone. I read books. Non fiction pretty well regarded books about missions aboard American nuclear submarines by people who have sailed with them. Other than the books I make no claim to knowledge about the subjects. If you have a problem with what I've posted, your problems are with the writers and publishers of the books and not with me. I"m going to take it for granted that someone who spent 60 days at sea aboard the U.S.S. Nebraska and conducted hundreds of hours of interviews with current and former crew members actually knows something at this point about submarines. Good lord most of you can be complete asses.
Especially since I have the book right here in my chicken coop. F-ck off, you f-cking a--holes. I'll f-ck you til you f-cking love me. F--------------CK!!!!!!!!!
And more name calling... here's the real deal on this. There are several members on this board that are/were in the Navy. I think they know more about what happens aboard a ship that some dumb fuck hick from nowhere who's main source of information sits in a chicken coop.
Fine Ed. You're a jerk. I know that. Those people here who served in the Navy. Did they serve on submarines? Were they ever on a submarine in their lives? Have they even read a book about submarines? I'll defer to their greater knowledge. If they prove they actually have it. Satisfied?
Well... that was a let down. I was expecting to be called a dickhead, again. If you know it, why are claiming that by reading something by someone who once talked to some people from a sun that you know more than someone who has made a career or spent a significant time either on a sub, or with with those that have. Do you have proof of you chicken coop, any proof whatsoever? A few pics would suffice, showing the coop, and several of the boxes you claim to have in the coop. If you want proof from people who have actual experience, then where's the third or fourth hand proof you have?
I served 10 years in the Navy. I served on 2 Nimitz Class aircraft carriers. As a civilian... I've worked on probably a dozen or so different submarines including Los Angeles class, Ohio class (both SSBN and SSGN), Virginia class, and a Benjamin Franklin class. I've been qualified SUBSAFE. I've been Submarine Systems qualified. I've been qualified as a submarine Test Director. I've been a Submarine overhaul Assistant Chief Test Engineer. I've ridden Submarines on sea trials...including deep dives and "angles and dangles". I know it isn't as impressive as "I read a book by some guy", but there it is. And to be honest no one is obligated to prove shit to a cowardly hawk who just gets off watching other people being sent to die. The only reason I'm answering you is to make you look like the fool you are.
This link says that minor fires on submarines are routine (about once a week). http://www.reddit.com/r/newtothenavy/comments/2s001g/how_often_do_submarines_have_fires/
That's another board dipshit. By someone who 'heard' that, more than likely misheard 'fire drills'. By your reasoning, since I read on another board "Dayton Kitchens from Arkansas, fucks goats once a week." is a factual claim. And can be introduced into an argument as proof of that you do fuck goats.
http://www.amazon.com/Big-Red-Three...VIE_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1428535814&sr=1-3 The book and its author seem pretty credible. Try reading sometime guys. It will open your mind.
So was I right about not allowing submarine crews to have marshmallow roasts? I am betting that Dayton has confused fire drills with fires, since fire drills are almost constant. But perhaps an early boat did have some issues on a cruise, with far more than the usual number of incidents (zero), in which case there would have been major changes made throughout the class. But it's doubtful, because even in factories that only meet civilian specs, electrical fires are extremely rare - usually the result of lightning strikes.
Let's try this logically. How often does the average house, hotel, airliner, or factory have an electrical fire? Once a week? Once a year? Once every ten years?
The average house is not powered by a nuclear reactor either. At any rate, what is your point? And factory, I've known factories that frequently had fires. Note, when I say fires in this or in submarines I'm not talking about conflagrations that require a fire fighting team being dispatched. I'm talking about small fires (which of course have to be addressed quickly).
Let's see ... multiple Navy veterans and defense contractors vs. a guy on Reddit who says he heard something on a tour. And a quick search for the word "fire" using Amazon's "search inside this book" feature doesn't turn up any references that seem to suggest fires being common.
Yeah if Archangel had been politer and not insulted me I could probably defer to his claim of superior knowledge. Not now of course. I do not respond positively to someone insulting me. Especially when I did nothing to provoke it from him personally. Deal with me respectfully if you want me to consider agreeing. That is only reasonable.
A nuclear reactor creates heat which is used to create steam, that steam powers electrical generators which create electricity. There are 10 countries that have 1/3 or more of their electricity provided by nuclear power plants. France has nearly 75% of their power provided by nuclear power plants. So it's fair to say that nuclear power does in fact power the average home.
Actually.... Archangel didn't insult you until you insulted the board in general. You posted this before you called you a cowardly chicken hawk and a fool. So yeah, you don't have a leg to stand on. And why would you fuck a goat? Dude that is just wrong.
Still wrong, there are 26 nuclear power plants in the Northeast U.S., and a total of 61 nuclear power plants in what is considered the Eastern US. There are 104 nuclear in the U.S.. With 47% of the population in the Eastern U.S., you can consider the average home to be powered by a nuclear reactor. So when are you coming out as gay? You already said that once today. Unless you are personally threatening me, and a threat against another board member is grounds for a ban. And post reported as a personal threat against me.
I can't threaten anyone online Ed. IIRC you once explained how I lacked the skill and the means to do so. Now if you feel threatened, then I can do nothing about that. Give yourself a reassuring hug or something.
