So I guess getting hacked while playing a console game IS possible.

I really thought this was rare. I know some of those black ops and hardcore shooters have hacked games, but my understanding was that the hacker had to be hosting the game and if something happened to your stats then they returned to normal once you left their game.

So I was playing Burnout Paradise a few nights ago and joined a game in progress. I just caught the tail end of the conversation, but here's what apparently went down (note: this all came from the mouths of adult gamers not kids), someone was hosting a game with a few players, someone named 'laughing' something or other joined in, said something, and suddenly everyone's save file got... messed with I guess. More specifically, all their cars (like level up points, the higher you get in the game, the more and better cars you get) were gone. Wiped out.

I'm not sure if that included purchased content(cars) too, but I doubt it since noone was complaining about loss of money.

I'm not sure how every game is hosted. Burnout seems to be hosted on EA(I think?)'s servers, since I believe I had to register an EA password to get online. Perhaps it's just EA's servers that are being exploited.

I don't really know what the setups are with other games like say Tron Evolution. Is that hosted by a Disney server somewhere or is physically in a Sony building? Does it even matter?

Oh, well. Something to keep an eye out for.
