This did make me wonder, are there or is there the possibility of North Korean covert agents infiltrating the South Korean government?

Like could that possibly be a thing or nah?

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't a thing.

Though not nearly as significant as claimed here

I suppose I would be as well, but it seems like such an undertaking would be a massive effort and I would imagine South Korean intelligence prioritizes looking out for and preventing such a thing

Seems like Yoon js the most likely agent since he's committed to wrecking South Korean democracy.

So the president of South Korea decided to go ham on dictatorship is smacked down and might even lose his position in disgrace, and here in the US a health insurance CEO had his medically unnecessary living claim denied. I like the trend. I'm hoping it bodes well for our future, and a portent of things to come for the powerful who keep threatening that future.

This is sort of misting in the direction of the tree of liberty. It would be best if the liberty tree was part cactus or something that could survive. I am not going to stop my happy dance, but I am not thinking the corrupt rich are changing many plans over this.

So his case moves to the Constitutional Court. Trouble is, only six of their nine seats are currently filled. So it's unclear if they even have a quorum to vote on conviction and removal.

Just depends on the way the statute/constitution is written. 5 would be a simple majority and 6 could be a supermajority. :clyde:

So fun fact, SK is on its third president in a couple weeks.

The first interim president after Yoon’s impeachment refused to appoint special prosecutors to investigate Yoon’s family members and appoint enough members to the Constitutional Court (rarely used, isn’t the final court of appeals like SCOTUS so unless there is a constitutional crisis doesn’t really do anything) to fill the vacancies so they could try Yoon so then HE got impeached for failure to perform duties, and as American just… Wait, this is how things can happen?
