That...is a lot! Punisher, the Hand, Bruce Banner, Scorpion and probably a bunch of other things I'm missing. Plus, is he developing an organic web-making ability? I'm here for it.
I thinking/wondering that Bruce Banner doesn't remember that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, but possibly Professor Hulk remembers because he was Bruce when Doctor Strange cast the spell.
So it looks like we have: Punisher Hulk Jean Gray (?) The Hand (!) Scorpion Boomerang Tarantula (and "heez pointy chews") I'm very excited. Very excited.
I've heard it explained that in the comics, when Strange cast the spell it didn't work on Hulk, so Banner forgot along with everyone else but Hulk knows who Peter is.
Maybe I'm blind but I'm not seeing Sadie in that screenshot. I also didn't spot Boomerang in the trailer. About when does he appear?
I've been waiting ages for a new spiderman but who's the big bad? We see Frank Castle, and I only remember Kingpin from Spiderman comics, not Daredevil and Castle only from Daredevil. and it also looked like the Ra's al Ghul's soldiers from the Arrow series. Of course, all those comics were 30+ years ago and many, many mind-altering ingestions, both alcoholic and cannabis.
There are a lot of antagonists pictured in this and another trailer. It may not be that there is one Big Bad. Frank Castle, the Punisher, got his start as a Spider-Man anti-hero/foe in the 1970s. Kingpin started as a Spider-Man foe in the 1960s. During the 1980s, comic writer Frank Miller used both Kingpin and Punisher so well in his Daredevil run that effectively both are highly associated with Daredevil as much as or maybe even more than Spidey. His Daredevil run also introduced the red-clad Ninjas known as the Hand (If you are familiar with Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles, you may be interested in knowing that the original was a take on Daredevil, which is why those Ninjas are the Foot clan). So it seems that the movie is Daredevil "paying" Spidey back by lending out a set of his traditional foes to have Spidey fight them. There is a scene where Scorpion, a traditional Spidey foe, speaks to Spidey and warns him to stay out of his way about 2:24 in. Shortly after that we also see Spidey dodging an attack from another villain, Boomerang. I don't think he's particularly attached to fighting Spidey. There is a scene where Tarantula, another traditional Spidey-foe from the 70s with the pointy boots, is attacking Spidey. It could be that the latter three are very short scenes or part of a montage that's not much more than what was in the trailer. It seems like it would take a lot to have scenes with the Hand, the Punisher, these other villains and have a Big Bad on top of them. And it seems unlikely to me that any one of the villains shown has enough to make a good Big Bad given the presence of so many others.
I hadn't realized Punisher started in Spiderman. Though, that does make sense since his (punisher's) storyline is tied to kingpin's. But, I agree, none of the traditional spiderman villains are big enough to carry a movie. Then again, if you asked me in the 70s, I'd have said the same about the joker.
Hot Toys put out the Hulk figure for this film, and, well... It's definitely a good figure. I have the one on the right, from the the Avengers film. But.... It's so freaking huge. Even if I were to get it, it wouldn't fit in my case. And it would literally dwarf the other figures. I'm not sure how movie-accurate that size is, but if it's true, that would make him about 9 or 10 get tall. Which is a bit silly. Also, I hate the color. I like my Hulks a nice, deep green. Not jaundiced.
Both times in the comics Banner spent years as Banner-Hulk, when Savage Hulk burst out, the bottling up made him more powerful. Like Hulk blue-balls. So, yeah, I can buy the power boost making him bigger.
Some singer who has a song for the movie just spoiled who Sink's character is, it's pretty funny Don't click if you don't want to find out who
